// Would Archie be the first person of colour born into the RF? //
that would depend if you accept Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, consort of George III was black. the jury's out on that but there's a school of though that Charlotte, though German, was directly descended from a black branch of the Portuguese royal family, related to Margarita de Castro e Souza, a 15th-century Portuguese noblewoman nine generations removed, whose ancestry traces from the 13th-century ruler Alfonso III and his lover Madragana, who was said to have been a Moor and thus a black African.
if that is accepted as fact, then every royal from George IV downwards has some "colour" in them.

To quote what Meghan actually said ... there were "several conversations" with Harry about Archie's skin tone, and what that would mean or look like.
That doesn't sound like a casual throwaway comment along the lines of "I wonder what colour their eyes will be" or "I wonder if they'll have big ears like their Grandad".
It sounds more like somebody was making a repeated point to Harry, and he shared it with Meghan.
But for me, the "racist" element was not the worst thing to come out of the interview. The worst thing was the alleged lack of support for someone who was having suicidal thoughts.
