Ellipses, that tweet is so true and I can relate to it. It's ok going to see your GP but your family, friends and colleagues need to be understanding as well if you choose to approach them. When I tried to talk to a manager a few years back she was very dismissive of my mental state at the time and told me I was luckier than most and should be grateful for what I've got.

Many people fear this kind of reaction if they open up. Very sad.
// Thought it was Philip who was racist. "Slitty eyes" and other derogatory remarks in the same vein.//

well I am amazed any of this has survived the mods blue pencil!
or the thread
I alluded to slitty eyes and the Emperor of Japan as well and out it went. OK I also mentioned red hair and the leader of a world religion that no one here seems to know was red haired.
Thanks, tiggerblue10.

Your post reminds me of this comparison:

I can't see how cloverjo's post would remind you of that comparison.

From what I have heard and a couple of videos I have watched something doesn't sit right.

She says she was refused help from the Royal Family yet Harry says he never had a conversation with his family about it because it just isn't a conversation that would be had.

Bizarre.
Not sure if this will work (transposed from Twitter)

We don't actually know that anybody was "racist". This is because the Duchess has declined to name her tormentor or to elaborate more on what was said (other than "I wonder what colour your babies' skin will be" - which is not at all racist).

There seems to be this widespread opinion that whatever she says must be believed. I'm not of that opinion. And since she is unlikely to elaborate on her accusations, I'll remain that way.
well what with Harry not knowing the line of succession and titles when it comes to Princes and Princesses, he certainly didn't get it across to her what the benefits and costs are - as in a life of luxury and, rule 1, Her Maj (Or to be His Maj) is the focus of the RF, no one else and, rule 2, you zip your mouth when it comes to making public opinions.
You mean like Diana. And Charles. And Andrew.
That has changed recently though, Dtc. I'm not sure of all the changes exactly, but when Kate was expecting George, it was decided he would be next in line, no matter what sex he was, which is why Charlotte is before Louis. I don't know whether that was the only change at the time?
This is great. Once Elizabeth goes I think there may be a real chance that the UK will have a monarchy reformed for the 21st century and maybe eventual abolition!

PS. Baffles me why Spain re-introduced their monarchy, just a backlash from the Franco era I suppose.
Didn't flirting with Prince Charles become the Three Degrees mantra back in the day? What's wrong with a young man flirting with a woman forty years or more?
/There seems to be this widespread opinion that whatever she says must be believed. I'm not of that opinion. And since she is unlikely to elaborate on her accusations, I'll remain that way./

She could say the moon's made of blue cheese and there are those who will believe her, the same happened with St Diana, her version was accepted without question because it fitted their own prejudice.
The other change at the time was that the king and other royals could marry catholics but the king could not become one himself.
Just because Charles had a crush on a woman of colour back in his younger days, does not preclude him from making a racist observation towards a woman marrying into the Royal Family.

For the record, I think the remark may simply have been misinterpreted, but it's clouded in mystery and we may never know who said what, or how it was received.

Also for the record, I don't think Charles has a racist bone in his body, but that has nothing to do with the fact that he once fancied a black woman - the two are not mutually exclusive in any sensible analysis.
Elipsis, can you comment on my earlier post?
Just watched this discussion , very good we thought:

Khandro - // Just watched this discussion , very good we thought: //

Quite possibly, but I am spending the time I could have devoted to watching it to doing something I feel is of more use to me going forward -

I'm putting everything in the fridge in alphabetical order ....
I can't see what to comment on Roy. You're simply stating your opinion. What do you want ... me to attempt to persuade you otherwise? Not worth the pixels, unless you can honestly say that I've ever persuaded you to change your opinion about anything.

That isn't my opinion, that is what was said in the interview.
Do you think that makes sense, because to me one is at odds to the other?

Couldn't Possibly Have Been Charles Who Was Racist
