Surely Harry not the 'firm' should have been her first option?
Could it have been Harry who made the remark, after all he does have form on this, he referred to one of his military mates as 'my little P*** friend Ahmed', or when he was speaking about a fellow cadet who was Indian, as 'rag head', or when he went to a fancy dress party dressed as an German SS soldier, as I say, he's got form!
Roy, I'm not going to go and re-watch interviews and piece together a sequence of events just so I can debate it with you!

If you look at the big picture, everything they've done they've done for a reason, not on a whim. They've given their reasons, in the interview, and the reasons they've given stack up with what they've actually done. The things that have made life difficult for them have been the family, the institution around the family, and the press - out of those three, the family is probably least of all (it seems to me).

Now, if you don't believe them, then you have to think

a) there's a different set of reasons
b) they would prefer to lie about their reasons than just tell the truth about the different set of reasons

I can't see any evidence of that and I'm not the slightest bit interested in defining for myself, or having others define for me, what that different set of reasons might be.

I feel sorry for the Royal Family, I think if anything it's they who are born into a life of slavery (but we'll call it "service" because they're well rewarded for it), with their futures chosen and mapped out for them, and not allowed to step off the path. It's an anachronistic institution and if it's still going in 2066 - 1000 years after William the Conqueror, and quite possibly with another William on the throne - I'd be surprised and concerned for them. For Meghan to be contemplating suicide is not surprising, however, and therefore I wish her and Harry luck in doing whatever they need to do to make them happy.

It is to me and that's one reason (among others) that I do not believe it.

So do I. Providing it keeps them out of the UK, off my telly and out of any newspapers I might read..
wanting to sleep with a non-white woman doesn't stop you being racist. Thomas Jefferson had children by one of his slaves, as did many slave owners.

In other words you don't care if it doesn't add up.
Is that the So Rule I can see?

I do believe it is!!
Only if you're stupid enough to think that.
Roy: "so rule" notwithstanding, I don't care if it doesn't add up but, despite that, I think it does add up i.e. they moved to Canada and then on to California for the reasons they stated, which was their perception of the reality.

Yeah I know...that's what I said.
Sad to see it's not beneath you to selectively quote, roy ... no doubt Meghan will help you vent that spleen issue you have.
What on earth are you babbling on about?
I think the 'so rule' is silly.
There! I've sided with Roy on something.
If I was the Queen, I would have given them a job, such as Governor of New Zealand - Canada, they would have wanted but it's too important and PH does not speak any French, a prerequisite for the job. I'm not sure he could have learned it either.

That's exactly what his father should have done after he married, Governor of Oz.

As to Prince Andrew, if I was Her Maj, then send him as Governor of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands (population, 30). Or to marry Princess Lafita and be incarcerated in Dubai or an offshore island in the Straits of Hormuz.
Governors-general are no longer chosen by the Queen but by the government of the country.
and a little arm-twisting perhaps??
DTC - // If I was the Queen, I would have given them a job, such as Governor of New Zealand - Canada, they would have wanted but it's too important and PH does not speak any French, a prerequisite for the job. I'm not sure he could have learned it either. //

French is the first language in Quebec, but not the rest of Canada, and the entire population of Quebec is bi-lingual anyway - even the homless people on the streets ask for change in two langauges. If you make it clear you don't speak French, they swap to faultless English without a moment's thought.
