I'm most known for news so I'm putting this here. I took off the adblocker to type this. I can barely type a word without she ite hopping all over the screen, the site is unusable. I may be back when I figure out a way the make this site viable again. Who would have thought it, veteran of many suspensions I finally get expelled by ads! PMSL! TTFN.

Do some browsers come with an in-built ad blocker which other sites cannot detect? I am typing this on a laptop using Edge.

The only ads I get on my PC, using Firefox, is one on the right side of the screen and one in the middle as I scroll down reading the posts. Perhaps the reason I don't get as many as some of you seem to get is that I don't live in the UK?

I've struggled on my phone today with it. Trouble is, I tend to dip in from my phone rather than my laptop. I'll see. But the site owes me nothing.

Has the message been taken down? I logged out (but had to disable adblocker first) , cleared cache, reenabled adblock, logged back in, clicked 'proceed to site' and got in without ads or the messsage

You need to look at the add ons to your browsers rather than what blockers are included with them.

Just now- Logged out, cleared cache again and logged back in and got the message again- but just chose the 'proceed to site'. Again it let me with no ads and no message's about removing adblocker

I just clicked "continue to site" adblock still on, no problems. Chrome & Adblock plus,

That only works for a little while. Then that option is taken away.

^ and now that you have highlighted that to AB, expect your adblocker to no longer work. I`ve lost count of the amount of VPNs I`ve had that used to work until someone told the BBC etc about them.

Fair enough, if it gets too much I'll stop using the site altogether.

Re VPN's it's relatively easy for sites to automatically detect them given a bit of time, because they detect multiple connections from a single IP address with different access profiles - e.g. for the BBC they see heavy use from an IP at times that most of the UK population are asleep.
