"It has been widely reported that Lord Brownlow, who just happens to have been given a peerage by the Conservative party, was asked to donate £58,000 to help pay for the cost of this refurbishment. Can the Prime Minister, if he is so keen to answer, confirm: did Lord Brownlow make that payment for that purpose?"
The PM said,
"I think I have answered this question several times now, and the answer is that I have covered the costs. I have met the requirements that I have been obliged to meet in full."
If Lord Brownlow did not make a payment, why did the PM not make that abundantly clear?

Whether or not Lord Brownlow made the payment, Boris would have answered in the same way. He's a politician. They're trained not to give a straight answer to a straight question, just in case it comes back to bite them. It's part of the problem with UK politics. We plebs should have learnt that by now.

Has anyone got any details, or links( that sadly excludes at least one) highlighting the decorators bill or account of previous personal refurbs to the flat? I hope every previous P.M. has kept records of who paid for what and when. Cos sauce for a Goose is sauce for a Gander, innit?
