Who's Dylin?
boris's pet dog
who dylin den?

Dilyn is a dog which lives with Carrie Symonds and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson at 10 Downing Street. He is a white, male Jack Russell cross and was born in 2018.

chrissakes
sorry, Dilyn
not a dog lover pp?
Naomi, i didn't say he wouldn't have had the £58K. But his ex-BFF has suggested that Boris wanted others to make up the total required. And that's what this argument is all about - whether or not he has broken any codes of conduct in order to get the flat refurbished.
thread lovers will know that I have compared the redecoration to a tarts boodwar and also Carrie to Marie Antoinette

(er once married to Louis XVI - both not English but that is not important now)

and in the letters column of the Times to day

Dear Sir if Carrie Symonds ( the prime ministers's Moll) is Marie Antoinette as your correspondent insists, then Boris Johnson as she describes is Louis XVI. Both men loved Latin Both were indecisive and above all parsimonious . When the Queen told the King he needed a new coat, he replied nevertheless madam it will have to last me all summer." There was a great vogue for luxurious wall paper in the 1780s but I doubt whether either Johnson or Louis would have been interested in it

to the ed of the Times John hardman author of Life of Louis XVI available at all decent remainder shops

[well it makes a change from endless crushing one liners like Who dyling den, innit?)
yeah the whole thiing is that have 58k or not
he didnt shell out
or else we would be looking at a cashed cheque in boris' name

and can get on with important things like
covid and should andie be allowed to wear an admirals uniform

oh and Naomi, I am glad you are not prime minister: your latin is not good enough
i know that the PM, and the MP's aren't paid that well, i am aware there are expenses, but even so, its not a job i would do, not for that pittance.
> Why do you think he wouldn't have £58K? He's a wealthy man.

Sometimes, some rich people prefer spending other people's money rather than their own. Especially when they feel entitled, or that the situation is unfair to them in some way. It's an attitude thing. Maybe it's what made them rich ...
they make it afterwards what with speeches, books etc - look at Blair's wealth for example though he does have Cheri ripping fees off her clientele.
//oh and Naomi, I am glad you are not prime minister: your latin is not good enough//

It's not? How would you know?
i'm more concerned re the £300+ billion spent on covid than a lick of paint for the prime ministers flat . . .
Blair has a mountainous property portfolio, and i did look at various websites to see what they are worth, and the figure that keeps coming back are around 60 million, not bad for a ex PM, yes he goes on speaking tours etc.
ael , me too... but no one is listening
I doubt we need a debate about whose knowledge of Latin is the better...
The knives are out for Boris and, as always, the unthinking jump on the bandwagon.
Is he pulling your pigtails again, naomi? ;-)
Former prime minister David Cameron raked in a profit of £836,168 last year, thanks to media and speaking fees, while his Downing Street successor Theresa May made nearly £400,000 in private engagements after she failed to deliver on Brexit....

Tony Blair earned an estimated £80 million in 5 years after leaving office. Gordon Broon's net worth is £12 million.
Haha! He's trying ... as always. ;o)
