Sadiq Khan, Labour, has won the election for Mayor of London for the second time.
At least he won't be spending Tax payers money on Buxom Blondes, as a previous Mayor did, when was elected twice.
//Mayoral policies
Throughout 2020 and 2021, Bailey's mayoral campaign outlined several policies including:
An increase the size of the Metropolitan Police to 40,000 officers and the introduction of new 'stop and scan' technology that will use thermal imaging in knife crime hotspots.//
The London Mayoral contest was a foregone conclusion. The Conservatives fielded a not very good candidate.
Not sure there is anything significant to deduce from it.

Well not that we know of yet, but I dont recall Boris being driven to work in £300,000 five-litre armoured Range Rover either so I guess his floozy was cheaper.

After frittering it away on an 82% increase in staffing costs I doubt he has much left for anything else - which is probably why he's done nothing noteworthy.

REsults: Despite being against a poor candidate Kahn didnt get through on the first round. In the end he got 55.2% vs 44.8% of the poor candidate using second votes. The breakdown of votes is here: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/elections-2021-update-full-list-mayor-of-london-assembly-election-b933942.html and is interesting reading. Khan didnt do quite so well as being made out and it rather looks like if the Tories had fielded a better candidate they may well have won.
