If you were given the task of rebranding/rehabilitating Prince Andrew, how would you go about it?

Unless someone can think of some way to blame Harry and Meghan, I think this may be a non-starter.

All this royal bashing is getting a wee bit tedious now.I am all in favour of a much slimmed down monarchy. But what are the left-wingers on this sites alternatives?Arise President Blair, arise President Prescott?FO.
Why bother, he is far enough down the pecking order to be irrelevant. I don't think he would be able to do any behind the scenes charity stuff as all be seems to have to offer was a profile. The only thing I can think of is combining his love of golf with something like a foundation to help young players, something small that he might be able to seem convincing doing. Could be low profile until a few of the young players succeed, a few I owe it all to the Prince Andrew foundation speeches and then hopefully the public view becomes less spoiled *** more he wasn't all bad then.
Put your royal family on a strict diet ynnafymmi.

Is it really royal bashing though?

Not sure that's true.

If he were anyone else I can see him getting roughly the same treatment - Kevin Spacey, Mario Batali, R.Kelly, James Franco, Ghislaine Maxwell.

rowanwitch...that sounds about right. Like a Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme?
As long as the(much slimmed down)royal family exists and endures,i am not really bothered with these minor royals,sp.Whats your alternative to the royal family,Blair and/or Prescott.FO.
he is done and is now history, his life has been one round of privilege after another, time he fades from the scene.
Perhaps he should join the SNP,the sex pests in that party get a free pass from all their misdemeanours.....

Not sure why you're referencing PMs who left office over a decade ago.

I've never understood the constitutional reasoning behind countries such as France having a President and a PM - if both were voted in, how would duties be separated?

Also - why are you asking what my alternative to a royal family would be?

Where have I said that I think the RF should be scrapped?

This feels like 'agenda bending' - like when a politician is being interviewed on the Andrew Marr Show and instead of sticking to the subject at hand, tries to pull the conversation in an entirely different direction.
Just reading between the lines,sp,reading between the lines.Anyway what do you think about my suggestion that Andy joins the SNP?If Alec Salmond got off of 12(12???)sex charges, then surely Randy Andy would get off of one?

This is rebranding in the public's eye. He tried to rebrand himself with that interview.

He did badly.

So the question is now - innocent or guilty...how could the Palace improve his image?
As i said,sp,by joining the SNP.Everyone in that party get lets off with everything. From Sturgeons sister being let off of assault charges to a certain character making off with 600 grand to Alec Salmond walking away from numerous sex allegations, once your in that bunch of invidious inviduals you are basically teflon coated.Rant over.
they can't improve his image, its now time for him to retire entirely from the limelight. He has be sullied with too many bad mistakes, marriage to Fergie, dalliances with other women, his friendship of all things with a known paedophile. They didn't call him air miles Andy for nothing, all paid for by the taxpayer. I think he's creepy and not to be trusted ever again
It really isn’t fair to brand him a sex pest. He is accused of having sex with a 17 year old in this country. That is not a crime. Additionally, that 17 year old chose to go back at least twice more to party with the rich and famous, so in my opinion although her claims, years down the line, hold no water at all, if it goes her way the spoils could be financially lucrative for her - which is what I believe is her purpose.

He is an arrogant, privileged, spoilt man used to getting his own way and stupid enough to choose his friends without due consideration, stupid enough to deny publicly all knowledge of their lifestyle, and stupid enough to hide from something that isn’t going away. Whether or not he knew what was going on no one knows at the moment, but even if he does eventually come clean, innocent or not, I don’t believe he has a working future of any sort in any area.

As an aside, I think at her age the queen could well do without the worry and embarrassment her favourite son is causing her - and her beloved self-exiled grandson and his dreadful self-serving wife. I feel very sorry for her.
Looks like sp has went back to bed.No response to my nationalist bashing post.
How do we know that he is the Queen's favourite son?
He's reputed to be her favourite son. I should have said that.
because she has said so, according to the news, though why she has summarily dismissed Charles is beyond me.
Not getting at you ,Naomi. This phrase' he is the Queen's favourite son ' has cropped up several times and I genuinely wondered just how it came about. Now Emmie has @10.06 told us.
I find it a bit strange because when Andrew was on active duty during the Falklands war the Government wanted to remove him from active service because they thought that ,being a Royal, his life would have been in danger. The Queen however refused to allow Andrew to be removed from active service and said he should remain on duty with his crew.
