jno: "Care to explain what you think will happen if they're untied again - as they were in 1938?" I don't buy that narrative jno. i.e. War again IF untied. The rogue raider era completely ended -vikings, goths, huns etc - , then the ~200 years of 'christian' religious wars in Europe completely ended, the major powers in Europe warsWW 1 and WW11 -completely...

mozz: "Not quite sure how anything to do with other countries leaving an organisation that the UK isn't a part of can be anti-British, but don't let that stand in the way of your usual schtick. " - really? How do you interpret this statement from jno?
"ah, misty-eyed nostalgists yearning to return to the good old days of 1938... "

I would rather be allied with Europe and we are. The current issue are just bickering because we left their club. They'll get over it. The EUSSR is an insidious creeping empire that needs to be stopped. The countries of Europe should scrap the EUSSR and start again with something more akin to trading agreements and cooperation.
TTT, the EU was formed, with the agreement of the Germans themselves, precisely to stop France and Germany going to war again as they had done three times in less than a century, by tying German industry and French agriculture together.
This has worked.

mozz: "If it's trade and co-operation you want (and I agree with that sentiment) you might want to stop rubbishing out European allies at every available opportunity. It doesn't show a desire for friendship, just one of constant antagonism. " - it's the EUSSR I hate not the individual countries, yes I know I take the peace out of France but that's more akin to the way the home nations rib each other. I have been to most of the EUSSR countries and had a great time, I've played rugby, worked in their banks and on tech projects. I just don't like what is happening to them and they don't seem to see it.

This has worked. " - fair enough but surely they don't need to federalise to do that.

and I reckon major wars between a nuclear weapon holding country and an-other are gone (so Fr Vs Germany a no no)
Possible deviant is 'American Exceptionalism' naturally...
