Emmie @ 08.35 Nowhere in The whole of the E/U has anyone got shortages like the UK are experiencing, this is a...." Uk self inflicted problem ".....
......you voted for it.
There were some some really ugly scenes on fuel station forecourts yesterday.Social media is a contributing factor in as much that someone will post that a garage up the road has had a delivery then very quickly this multiplies and before long you have a queue.Surely it is only human nature to try to ensure you have enough petrol/diesel to get to work and potential family issues e.g. sick children or elderly relatives.
Anyone chanting 'its NOT a brexit problem' needs educating. The shortage of HGV drivers has not happened overnight, for well documented reasons. The crisis has happened because of the ongoing shortage, coupled with covid, and most certainly exasperated by the loss of thousands of Foreign HGV drivers who could not renew their work visas after Brexit.

A Romanian HGV driver, interviewed on TV concerning temporary Visas, said he would only return to the UK if he were given a 12 month visa as it was otherwise not worth his while for just three months. If Brexit had not happened the lack of HGV drivers would not be half as bad.

Only those who don't want to admit this cannot understand it.

Naomi' 09.20,..."They all went last week"...
And they ain't coming back Naomi, not even to answer Boris's desperate plea for help for the run up to Christmas ..... YOU voted for it, enjoy.
So they all went last week, gully? Really?
Crisis - what crisis?
The fuel thing is a blip (I doubt many EU drivers drove tankers anyway) & relative to many countries our supermarkets are a veritable cornucopia of comestibles. So I ask again - what crisis?
Gulliver we voted to rid ourselves of E U red tape and edicts not for food shortages. If the government has not negotiated a beneficial deal then whose fault is it?
Keep it up Gully, I love your posts. You really shake the apple tree and guess who falls out? Yip, all the usual suspects with their blinkers on. Great entertainment.

Maggie @09,40 Will do my best . ...."They don't like it up em"......
The way I see it is:- Any Brexit deal was pushed through quickly without thought of what may happen - it was pushed through to keep his promises of Brexit means Brexit.
Now there are issues left right and centre.

R/H 10.09 ,....Spot on.
APG, no it's Boris's job, gully told us, Boris must do everything personally.
RedHelen: "Any Brexit deal was pushed through quickly " - it took 5 years from the vote to implementation, even in lefty land that would not be considered quick.
