All depends on how effective any Taliban retaliation can be outside the confines of their own country. I personally don't believe they themselves have the capabilities to cause the US much distress.
The US withdrew from the country, it did not sign a peace agreement with the Taliban.
The US mission was, and still is, to seek out terrorists. So the drones should stay, and even the odd smart bomb should be used to take out ISIS-K combatants.
"If the Taliban think their air space is being violated they will also think they are entitled to mount another 9/11. " There is much heightened awareness since 911, the mad mullahs can't fart without the yanks knowing about it.
The Taliban are happy in their own little playground making their peoples lives a misery. They may moan about the drones but in reality they know they can do burger all.
Naomi,
The US will continue to fly over Afghanistan. The US withdrew troops, they did not cease hostilities. If the US find terrorists they will assassinate them. That was what the last 20 years has been about.
American will be safer by keeping up its vigilance, and should not listen to you and danny who want to capitulate to the Taliban’s threats.
