The problem with Rayner is that at the moment she cannot be got rid of. Starmer has tried and failed. Her trump card is that she is the deputy leader of the Labour Party and as such elected by the membership, not appointed by the leader. She is there until she either goes of her own accord or a coup is mounted.

I don't think it is "point scoring" to talk about Rayner.... two MPs have recently been murdered and there are smaller incidents of political attacks too (e.g. the men who attacked owen jones)... it is easy to get carried away in heated politics and lets face it most of us are not blameless even if we don't like admitting it... whether it be "tory scum" or "anti british" or "all muslims are suspect". It's irresponsible... especially for politicians. I for one am going to be a bit more careful from now on!
