Why do you think Blair is caving in over the Budget rebate? He appears to have secured nothing in return for it and it now seems that we are going to be 3bn+ worse off whilst the French farmers enjoy the huge benefits of the CAP. What is his game? Is he using our money to buy the friendship of the rest of Europe? Chirac must be PHSL. When are we going to get a PM to stand up for our interests in the EU? Why are we always getting shafted by this anti British club?

Last I heard (Saturday) Blair said there was going to be no deal unless there was a full review of farm subsidies

However it does appear jake, from your link, that he has changed tack. Perhaps anticipating the public reaction.

Our Tony won't change tack, whenever he 'appears' to be standing up to the European leaders, he ends up giving in, its just a charade, the rebate is as good as gone, along with our independence.
