Sick Of The Snp
49 Answers
I am totally sick of the SNP. Once again Nicola is threatening to make changes to the countries hospitality industry but making the industry wait another week before she decides like a sword of damocles hanging over the countries heads giving businesses little time to implement the changes it needs. Up here in Scotland the Scottish government have the powers to change things but are not. We need the following:
1. Tougher rules on masks and public places no masks or no lanyards, no entry make it the law, the number of people flouting it and getting away with it unbelievable. Because shop workers and public transport workers too scared of offending people.
2. Track and trace is very relaxed some places ask for details a lot of places don't. Make this tougher
3. Bring back social distancing to 2m.
If all the above doesn't work then Austria has the right approach only the unvaccinated should have their lives restricted. I along with many others will not tolerate a Winter lockdown because of the selfishness of others in this woke society

But they are doing what’s ordered, bob, not what’s asked. In England it is no longer mandatory. If the UK government (who legislate in these matters for England) believed it was still necessary to wear face coverings why did they remove the mandate? We are straying a little but it intrigues me, when I examine the relative restrictions in England and Wales, that in the last 14 days Wales has recorded 1.4 times as many new cases per head than England. As well as that, England and Scotland have recorded near enough the same numbers. Surely with face coverings not needed in England, infections there should be romping away.

Gordie. Read around and you will find that masks make not 1 whit of difference (face shield are totally ineffective and just a virtue-signal). Distancing does make a bit of a difference.
Scotland has higher rates (or did, last time I looked) despite having harsher rules than England.
We had a great holiday in September in the Borders, but were very distressed by the effects of the draconian edicts on places like Hawick, which we know well. It was a ghost town, from being a vibrant, thriving town.
Once the vulnerable have been vaccinated - it really doesn't matter if other people catch Covid. Very, very few are likely to die.
Over 300 children died of pneumonia last year - just 6 died of Covid.
This is all an over-hysterical response.
If you don't want to die of Covid - get vaccinated. Otherwise, just get used to a fairly unpleasant illness that we will all get from time to time.
I'll be villified for this - but reactions are really damaging.

Not by anyone who has thought it through properly, you won't, jourdain. Your pneumonia in children statistic is very telling. Fifty times as many deaths, but not a mention. A handful of children die from another disease and each one of them hits the headlines.
Each of the three top causes of death in the UK is currently recording between three and four times as many deaths as Covid. Covid is now simply one of number of nasty diseases which the vast majority of sufferers recover fully but from which, unfortunately, some people die. That situation will prevail for many years to come. The time has come to accept that and stop this utter nonsense which has gone on for far too long.

For what it’s worth:
I’m unconvinced by masks, but I carry on wearing one and will probably continue to do so. I don’t care for mandatory arrangements although I can see the point of it in certain places.
I don’t support the apparent aim of the SNP of an independent Scotland and think Scotland would benefit from a change of government after all this time.
I do believe however there are many good people in the SNP

Exactly maggiebee. That's what I meant. Newjudge likes to deliberately misunderstand me and then patronise me worth a few dear bobbs. Where masks are required/ expected/ asked for the Scottish do what's asked in general wheras londonderry in particular and others in England don't - masks were very rare on the tube. Too many in England think they know best better than scientists. Am not a great believer in masks but if there part of a set of measures backed by science and are elected governent we should do it and help control the virus. Nj even said we should avoid testing and even go in work if we're infected for the sake of the economy. What chance have we got with these attitudes
...and the reply from Bob illustrates the sanctimony.
If gordie does have any health issues, and I'm sure there are many who do, those are the very people that this government failed to protect in the first place. You seem to imply that I am unaware of people with health issues. That is not the case. Don't be so presumptious. And there is still no need for the measures in the OP.
But everything's still ok thanks! :o)

bobbinwales you still wear a mask, we know, you inform us constantly of this !! I don't, because I don't have to and I am not alone in this, more and more now I see people NOT wearing masks than wearing them.
maggiebee why was it so 'unbelievable' to your daughter when she was in London ? Masks are not mandatory here and we are not ruled by Sturgeon, thank God. Maybe she should stay away if she doesn't like it ...
