I am totally sick of the SNP. Once again Nicola is threatening to make changes to the countries hospitality industry but making the industry wait another week before she decides like a sword of damocles hanging over the countries heads giving businesses little time to implement the changes it needs. Up here in Scotland the Scottish government have the powers to change things but are not. We need the following:
1. Tougher rules on masks and public places no masks or no lanyards, no entry make it the law, the number of people flouting it and getting away with it unbelievable. Because shop workers and public transport workers too scared of offending people.
2. Track and trace is very relaxed some places ask for details a lot of places don't. Make this tougher
3. Bring back social distancing to 2m.
If all the above doesn't work then Austria has the right approach only the unvaccinated should have their lives restricted. I along with many others will not tolerate a Winter lockdown because of the selfishness of others in this woke society

It already is law in Scotland (leaving aside the lanyards). The problem is that if anyone claims exemption, staff in shops or on public transport are not entitled to question why and the person claiming exemption does not have to prove it. Lanyards are a complete irrelevance. You can buy them on e-Bay and Amazon and they have no more authority than saying “I’m exempt.”

I won't get into the efficacy of non-medical grade face coverings worn by untrained and undisciplined people.

There are very few people who cant wear a mask for medical reasons it is a lot of rubbish it does not affect oxygen levels at all. If they can't wear masks they can wear shields

I think Gordie is referring to Scotland,Maggie.I think we all know where he is coming from.The SNP has been in charge of Scotland for the past fourteen years and i have never seen my country so mismanaged and wrecked by a bunch of nationalist nut-jobs.It sickens me to see my country being run and ruined by nationalist scumbags.

That maybe so. But the law quite rightly provides for exemptions (even if there are very few people genuinely unable to wear a covering). But you still have the problem of proof. If you expect shop assistants and bus drivers to get involved with arguments with people claiming an exemption, you may be disappointed.

When I been to Scotland I noticed how almost everyone wears there masks on transport in shops and going into pubs & cafes. Seen no arguments or refuses or even many claiming exempt unlike London and Cardiff swansea and Bristol this year. I
ibeen abroad utoo and they seem to do it too they just do what's asked

My daughter was in London a few weeks ago and said it was unbelievable the number of folk on the underground and in markets without masks. As per Scottish rules she wore hers - you can argue how effective they are, but she said she felt safer.

TTT, surely if you are wearing a mask you have a degree of protection if someone sneezes over you? Not ideal but better than nothing.
