damn right - Nigel should be PM.
Absolutely right, Nigel. That man didn't convert to Christianity.
Since I don't believe "we" even need Christianity, of course I don't believe "we" need converts to Christianity ...

> Nigel should be PM.

He's tried running for Parliament and never even made it that far, let alone PM.
Agree with him on this. We certainly shouldn't let failed asylum seekers stay indefinitely. The poles have the right idea now- it's become an invasion.
Yep Bang in Lord Farage. Why was he not deported? Presumably because of hand wringing rissoles like these:

Judging by the empty pews I'd say: "probably" :-0)
It seems quite unlikley that his conversion was anything more than superficial (why on earth would anyone convert to such a religion?)... obviously didn't take islam very seriously either if he was willing to renounce it opportunistically...
//obviously didn't take islam very seriously either if he was willing to renounce it opportunistically... //

I would suggest he took Islam very seriously indeed. It allows him to renounce it opportunistically. Allah knows the secrets of all hearts.
Emad al-Swealmeen converted to Christianity, but you are now saying that was a sham.

When other terrorists are found to have converted to Islam, that is NOT treated as a sham but proof that Islam is evil.

But this is AB where double standards are the norm.

Who sed dat den?
If it was a sham it shows he was desperate to stay in the UK. While his finally desperate acts are plainly to be deplored, it’s not hard to believe that someone might be desperate to stay in the UK rather than return to the ME
It is what is bring reported by some outlets including the Times. On what based I am not sure but apparently it is not unprecedented

Ichi; // it’s not hard to believe that someone might be desperate to stay in the UK rather than return to the ME//

and why not while here, try blow up mothers & children in a maternity hospital?
I am puzzled why he is reported to have arrived from the Middle East? That could be one of dozens of countries.

Does anyone know his country of origin, or his country of departure?

I get suspicious when it looks like they are withholding information they must know.
He apparently was Jordanian. Which is why he was deemed not to qualify for asylum.
Often though a person’s background can be uncertain.
Yes, Gromit, I am saying it was a sham and there are no double standards here. Those who convert to Islam and kill do what they do in the name of Islam. Those who pretend to convert to Christianity (no better way to gain the trust of the naïve) and kill in the name of Islam also do what they do. Islamists all.
I don't think it has been established yet what his motives were.

It is not hard to imagine that his frustration at being denied the asylum he was desperate for pushed him over the edge.
Maybe that is not the case but thankfully that actual professionals tasked with doing their job will approach this in an evidence-based, open minded way. Sometimes I am afraid popular views verge on bigotry. I apologise if that is not the case but it sure feels like it
Ich, if you're implying that I'm a bigot you'd be wrong. I don’t dislike terrorists for no rational reason. The fact that they kill people is reason enough to dislike them … wouldn't you say?

Incidentally, mine is not a 'popular view'. Most people - you included - aren't aware that Muslims may lie to further their cause.
It's not "dislike" that is the issue tho. That is irrelevant.
What investigators and others want to do is find motives for things.
They won't impart their prejudices into their investigation.
That's the key thing.
Thanks ichkeria
