They are endangering their lives by attempting dangerous channel crossings, is plainly what I meant. Previously they'd stow away on lorries which was dangerous but less visible perhaps to readers of the Daily Express.
I think deskdiary is saying what a lot of the more polite posters on the thread won't... i.e."I don't care better dead than here..."
ichkeria is right... people don't take risks like this unless they are desperate and in any case movement of people however undesirable cannot simply be stopped ... we also cannot expect to do anything about this problem without co-operating with our neighbours... a sentiment that has gone out the window lately...
an awful tragedy and the sneering response to death and suffering just makes it worse
Untitled, //ichkeria is right... people don't take risks like this unless they are desperate //
Rubbish! These people are not desperate.
Ichkeria, what do readers of the Daily Express have to do with it - or was that your attempt to undermine anyone who disagrees with you? They have to be thickos. Right?
Untitled people are fed up seeing the velvet hand in glove that’s going on while the police in Calais’s stand and sneer and send them on their way ,have you spared a thought for those people who have all their lives , in Folkestone and Dover etc ,who’ve worked and paid into our system ? To be invaded not by a few but by 1000s now crossing the Channel and disappearing into it , if they can’t feed themselves then they’ll steal whatever they can, is that the way forward?
We have a duty ov care to our own first
Untitled. there is a difference between people fleeing for humanitarian reasons and economic migrants which the majority of those crossing the channel are.
I wonder how many actually “disappear”?
This is a much more visible route perhaps than others.
That’s also why I mentioned Daily Express readers, who are not “thick”, but get that esteemed organ’s daily opinion of it so that it sounds like the Norman invasion.
I'll be frank, it wouldn't change mine (apart from the innocent chidren), we have people here in this country, pensioners living from hand to mouth, youngsters sleeping rough on the streets, women being hurt mentally and physically by abusive partners and yes, way too much animal abuse - and for me, they all come first !!
Yes they’re invaders, they are invading our country, they haven’t been invited and they are economic migrants, a drain on our services , yes it was a tragedy yesterday but I’ll repeat to you
Why do you think they want to be here?
i agree about all those problems... and of course UK citizens are the priority for the UK government. This problem cannot just be ignored though... and they can't just be forcibly prevented from coming... historically it is not really possible to stop migration completely. We need to find a way to manage it... more safe routes into the UK.
