…You have to rely on the Labour Party to save your blushes.
Nearly 100 Tories revolt and do not support their own Government.
Clearly a party deeply divided.
I wonder what the people of Shropshire North are making of tonights shenanigans ?
I don’t always agree with Kuenssberg’s analysis, but that was spot on.
Since the bye-election was called I considered a 23,000 majority unloseable. But backbench Tory MPs wishing for it to be lost, to give Boris a wake up call kick in the goolies, makes me ponder the LibDems could take the seat.
But it will be close. Less than a thousand votes in it, either way, is my prediction.
gromit: "But backbench Tory MPs wishing for it to be lost, to give Boris a wake up call kick in the goolies," - who has said they hope the seat is lost?
jno there is no link in the OP. I have read the link above, it does not say any MPs are hoping to lose the bye election. It says " some Conservatives might be happy to see it lost" - that the opinion of the author and usage of the word "might" indicates that it's a vague speculation at that. It seems RBID is once again evident.
gromit: "TTT,
How do you think the bye-election will pan out.
Surely you are betting £ mega bucks on a Tory Hold? " - no I'm not sure of that, It's quite possible that it'll be overturned.
what are you wittering on about? I am talking about the bye election it's you that started talking about the next general election. I already agreed that it's quite possible that the bye election will be lost at 00:42. What more do you want?
I will not call the bye-election now.
I am not confident the Tories will lose. But equally, I am not confident the LibDems will win it.
I will post on Thursday, a thread asking for your predictions.
For gromit and other sufferers of RBID:
It's possible that the Tories will lose the bye election on Thursday.
It's impossible that the seat will not be Tory after the next GE.
I hope that clarifies the position.
Gromit: "I will post on Thursday, a thread asking for your predictions. " - I can give you that now, I have no prediction, I can't call it, the Tories may well lose the seat like I keep saying.
