In terms of Westminster it is of no consequence. Boris still has a huge majority. But there will be a lot of Conservative MPs with majorities a lot less than 23,000 who will be quaking in their boots this morning.
Might be the first nail in Boris’ coffin.

i was watching this live, what a total shocker. Perhaps the Cons deserved to lose, after all the shenanigans of late.

It will be considered as a mid-term inconsequential by-election by the great and the good, but it speaks volumes when the party who came third last time can overturn a whopping almost 23,000 majority to put the Tory scum in second place and the Labour irrelevance in third.

Yep, a shocker. A total rejection of Johnson’s leadership and a failing Government. Sleaze and corruption has been his downfall.

i suggest that most do their best, as do the other politicians. Perhaps Johnson will go, perhaps not, but to continually bleat on about Tory scum is just lazy and not helpful. Why does it matter to you, aren't you more interested in what happens North of the border.

You're right, I am, but until that day happens I'm forced to live with a government who has no more interest in my country than what it can plunder from off its shores and under its land. Can I just ask: what is it about Boris Johnson and the tories that you love so much?

i think he has been dealt a bad hand, a pandemic that wasn't on the cards, irrespective of what some believe and he managed with his team to negotiate Brexit, a four year battle that still going on.
Plus getting ill with covid, must have knocked his confidence somewhat. I don't love any party or any one for that matter. But i
do think Labour with Keir Starmer in charge is a dead duck. They could do with some fresh ideas and a change of leadership.

I completely agree with you about Starmer. But that doesn't mean that Johnson is a competent leader! The fact that, in England at least, there's no-one else is the biggest problem the rUK faces.
