Was the Prime Minister right to exclude fraud figures in the latest crime stats in order to make the claim that crime figures had gone down by 14% (instead of UP by the same figure)?

Judging by Boris's perfomance since he became PM. He had no option other than to exclude Fraud figures.

There are only 2 reasons that I think that could be acceptable...
-If fraud was also omitted from the last figures
-or if he claimed it was only violent crime and made it clear what was missed out.
I think some need to look up the dictionary definition of the word "lie"
TTT - I just did.

// a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood. //

Yep it fits. The truth was a 14% rise in crime. We were told it had fallen 14%.

Pants on fire.

at the moment it’s highly unlikely that he would deliberately misquote published statistics.

Lol
He has already misled parliament and lied in previous jobs

Why would he be any different over these ?
Even if you are daft enough to believe the massaged statistics, the claim of reduced crime is disingenuous.

The period covered was when the country was in lockdown for several months. That forced change in our behaviour and that had some unintended favourable consequences.
- schools were shut so there was less congestion.
- people worked from home and did not drive to work, so there was less pollution.
- pubs were shut so there was less drunkenness and less physical assaults.
- heavy industry was shut so our energy usage changed and we generated more power from renewable sources.

All good news, but not achieved by Conservative Policies.

And so with the burglary figures. People working, and schooling from home, mean’t properties were occupied most of the day, leaving criminals with no empty properties to rob. Again, a good outcome, but because of lockdown, not the Government’s crime and policing polices.
