I thought I would start a separate thread on the situation in Ukraine as several of the other related threads are getting a bit fractious and have long since deviated from the original question.
That isn't a criticism: it's human nature and shows we're free to argue.

This man was miraculously pulled from his car in Obolon (N Kyiv) after it was steamrollered by a Russian tank. The "denazification" process continues (!)

Absolutely.
A friend of mine a couple of weeks back posted an internet meme of the giant Rodina mat' (Motherland) statue in Kyiv: it's a Soviet relic, but has become a symbol of the defence of the city. She is holding Putin's head in her hand and the caption reads "And that is why Putin will never take Ukraine"
Ok, a silly symbol, but I know what he meant and it gave me hope.

Reports and videos from all over the country of Russian military vehicles stuck or out of fuel.
There was the brilliant film of the motorist on Friday who passed such a vehicle and offered the occopants a lift in his car back to the border
Are there any signs of a mobilisation of civilian (military) aid for Ukraine from outside - I'm thinking of the International Brigade that fought in the Spanish civil war.

Just look at this. Brings it home a bit
Just heard on the news that Putin has been reported to the CHJ for war crimes alleging genocide.

Apparently Liz Truss (as you may notice in the above) tweeted that "she will support individual British nationals who decide to go to Ukraine and fight Russians."
La Truss has a fondness for cheese though.

Also, be prepared for back-pedalling and extreme hand washing should anyone going fall foul of the invaders and need a bit of help.
A silly question but... Since the first day of Russian planes/ gunships zooming over the skies, and considering the air power Russia have, there seems to be little activity from the air. Or is it just because its hard to capture live footage. Thanks
I can't see many volunteers coming forward.

No a great question: One reason they are probably quieter is that they have not been able to knock out Ukraine's air defences, and so they run the risk of being shot down.
The early pictures showed attack helicopters. And attempts to land paratroopers to take air installations to allow their larger occupation personnel, and saboteurs, to land.
Generally it is true: there is very little film of actual fighting.
Also, it's a huge, huge country, so one reason is simply that you can't be everywhere to catch it.

Putin puts Russia's nuclear deterrent forces on alert
Ah, a change of mind here, now's the time for a head shot.
Do you have a link to that?
Thanks ichkeria. jno. Someone needs to tell Putin that the US and uk plus others have been on that alert for some time, but we don't feel the need to say so. A desperate man now resorting to scare tactics.

He knows his position is check, so again he threatens to blow the board up. Someone on the inside needs to stop this loony very soon.

SevenOP, why have you posted that?
