If the British voters made the other decision ... nothing much would have happened. If the Ukrainian people make the wrong decision ... they will die, their families will die, their children will die. They will die in the most horrific way. To try to score Brexity points by making any comparison between the decisions facing these two groups of people is a...

If he’d pointed out that we are free to hold referendums (fair ones!) to decide our future then fair enough although if I was him I’d have steered clear of Brexit altogether.
What he’s done though is compare the actual decision of the referendum when he must know that millions here don’t agree!
“ When the British people voted for Brexit in such large, large numbers, I don't believe it was because they were remotely hostile to foreigners.
"It's because they wanted to be free to do things differently and for this country to be able to run itself."
So comparing that with the “Ukrainians’ desire to choose freedom” is bound to be contentious.
That’s all, and it’s my last word on the matter as I prefer to support the PM in general

I agree with Ichkeria. It's distasteful and crass, but also an unhelpful distraction -- we need to be united in opposition to the Ukrainian Invasion, and there was at the very least no need to cite this specific example. Especially given that the Ukrainians want to join the EU, which also makes the comparison look at best a bit silly.
Is he an idiot for imposing sanctions against Russia, Gulliver? For standing at for forefront on the world stage in his opposition to their invasion of Ukraine and in effect, on a point of moral principle, putting his own country at risk? As for your post at 11:43 Sun, coming from you that has to be a joke.
Ich, I'm truly amazed at your inability to understand this. I can only think that like other Remainers here, with a brain still stuck in the confines of the EU, you find it impossible to understand a wider picture.
Douglas, you're in danger of turning in to Anneasquith. She has a cowardly habit of punching people in the back and running away.

So he's lauding the resolve of the 17,410,742 who voted Brexit and those Ukrainians who have stood to fight the Russians and defend their country to the death. Does that mean, then, that the PM believes the 16,141,241 who voted Remain and those who have fled their war-torn country in terror do not possess resolve?
See just how stupid his analogy is?

Incidentally, it's nothing to do with where you stood in the referendum:
