Yes fair play to Mr Johnson.

I had to smile when he quoted Heraclitus: “War is the father of all things”
That surely is Boris himself ;-)

The PM may have his failings but I think this is just the sort of thing he excels at.
No doubt there’ll be some cynicism, but his words will inspire Ukrainians, who already hold Britain in the highest regard.

napoleons maxims

not bad: start a war and make sure you have war-aims beforehand

and Charles XII tried to extend swedish domination (!) to Ukraine but was defeated at Pultava ( I always thought there was a battle there) - and it was all his fault for invading a cold, foodless, godforsaken domain in winter....

I wondered if the face to face was that they cdnt be sure comms beetween UK and Ukraine were secure - sandra 444's point
oh, yeah the fourth one - - face to face
isnt a Napoleon maxim. ( you really knew that innit)
Fully support anything we can do to help and assist the people of Ukraine. The West need to stand united against Putin, the more we can do to support Ukraine the better.
Well done Boris.
In a statement after the meeting, Mr Johnson paid tribute to "President Zelensky's resolute leadership and the invincible heroism and courage of the Ukrainian people", saying: "Ukraine has defied the odds and pushed back Russian forces from the gates of Kyiv.
I don't know if anyone has seen this ..

I think the PM has a new fan: the guy outside the bakery ...

and Boris does NOT walk from Downing St to Parliament - does he

( when Denmark fell to the Nazis 1940, the King stayed and the Nazi conqueror said - "you must have a body guard!" The King replied "The people of Copenhagen are my body guard" )
Fair play to him.

Even the haters on this site (they know who they are) must concede Boris has played a blinder here.
A logistical nightmare for all concerned but Boris out in the open and talking and waving to people will, hopefully, be a psychological boost for the Ukrainians.
Proud of him. After the awful time and nastiness over the last two years, he shows his strengths and proves there's no one who could do better amongst all the wishy washy politicians.

Well done Boris.

I can predict that our timorous PM, Justin Trudeau, will not go there. He'll be afraid of getting his signature clown socks sullied. He is even afraid to expel, unlike other leaders, to expel any Russian diplomats from the capital city, and when asked in Parliament if he would send 80 ground-to-air missiles to Ukraine he replied that Canada will continue to support Ukraine...No mention of the missiles!
I forgot to mention good show for your PM for making the journey to Ukraine. It's too bad that he couldn't have taken Gulliver with him and left him behind:)
Yep, well done Boris. Now we have to do is take more refugees, and faster.

And people do realise that Ursula von der Leyen met President Zelensky yesterday in Kyiv, and visited Bucha too ... don't they?

Not much more to add to other posts. I, too, say 'Well done, Boris!" Maybe he's grown-up a bit at last. (Long way to go, start with dumping the Green rush.)
It's got to be a real morale-booster to the Ukrainians. I just hope we follow-through with as much help as we can give.
A simple thing like booting the Home Office regarding housing immigrants would be a good start.
^^^ Sorry, I meant 'refugees', not 'immigrants'. Genuine mistake in haste of typing.
"Be brave, like Boris. Be brave, like Ukraine." This should be on the side of a bus!
Why Gulliver isn't on this thread praising Boris I can't imagine. Later perhaps.
