OK, it's only a poll but would show a trend.

So, in the top five we have:
Penny Mordaunt, 19.6%
Kemi Badenoch, 18.68
Rishi Sunak, 12.11
Suella Braverman, 11.05
Liz Truss,10.93.

Well, my favourites out of those would be Suella and Kemi, both proper Conservatives IMHO. Penny would have been great but for the fact, like Sir Kier, she doesnt know what a woman is so its a big red flag for me that one. Rishi was a favourite of mine but with those taxes I'm not in agreement with his direction.

Thoughts?

// Nadine Doriss is considering joining in //

She is supporting Rishi, as is Shapps who has pull out of the contest.
From bbc news, Nadine and JRM supporting Liz Truss . Bye LT .
It's good news.

Means neither are standing.
Who supports who is largely irrelevant. It's the numbers that count.
Sunak and Truss would be bottom of my list.

By tonight there will be a thinning out once some dont have enough nominations and others feel they are far down the list.

Changing all the time of course but it seems at present only 4 have the 20 or more needed. Rishi has 44 nominations Penny is next with 26, Tom with 21 and Liz with 20.

Remember many will do it to raise profile with the hope of getting a Ministerial position.

I don't think sqad is solely interested in her politics
Obvious path for JRM in light of him giving Sunak a kicking last week.

Non of the candidates deserve the job. Which one stood up and sail ‘ Boris is ruining the country, cannot be trusted etc. ‘ . No they all sat back taking their salary. ?

in fairness, Javid resigned twice, which shows a certain amount of backbone (which is not the same as ability).

I don't have anything against tax rises myself (the money's got to come from somewhere) but those rises Sunak introduced were all applauded by those who are now denouncing him and promising to cut tax.
Yes jno he did, but he appears to be pretty low down on the pecking order for PM .
I'm afraid it's the hair, anne. Kinnock... Hague... Howard... bald men seldom win the top jobs.

but we're all expected to join this bandwagon of lies and we contradict it at our peril - as some can testify. That is not alright. It just isn't.

well that's me told.

Now let me see what this thread is about
Top five in the Tories poll
are any of them transgender, pray?

thank god we have a resident witter guardian who rails against irrelevant witter on threads such as these ! phew

oh, it was Naomi writing, come one Naomi, do your job!
Priti Patel has withdrawn but has wisely not endorsed any of the other candidates, thus giving the winner no reason to sack her for disloyalty. (Except for being priti useless.)
I go for Rishi - least crazy
" we have borrowed and spent and now we have to pay for through taxes"
Kemi. It will put the labour left in a tailspin, a black woman, oh dear, it would be hilarious watching them tie themselves in knots.

dave50: "Kemi. It will put the labour left in a tailspin, a black woman, oh dear, it would be hilarious watching them tie themselves in knots" - never thought of that! It'd be like putting itching powder down their collective pants!
it's because she'd put the Tories in a tailspin that she won't get the job.
If Nadine and JRM are backing Truss then she must be the Boris continuity candidate. Like Boris, she has problems with parliamentary committees. On 28 June this one, for example, took issue with her claim that the UK was ending “our dependency on authoritarian regimes for energy” ...

I can't imagine why Bryant, a homosexual, would make such a big deal over this false claim of Truss's. Well, I suppose there is this ...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Saudi_Arabia
Homosexuality and being transgender are widely seen as immoral and indecent activities, and the law punishes acts of homosexuality or cross-dressing with capital punishment, fines, public whipping, beatings, torture, vigilante executions, chemical castrations, imprisonment up to life and deportation.
