Boris is backing Liz Truss because he knows, and she knows ,that she will cock it up. Then Boris mysteriously gets re-elected to PM again.
Be it Truss, or Boris [again ] it will be the Demise of the Tory Party at the next G/E.

Paigntonian //Crazy: The Tories won't lose the next GE. Idiots think it's a level playing field. It isn't. The Tories have a 80-seat majority. It will take a very large swing to dislodge them.// Indeed. I mean, it’s not like there’s been any indicators in the last 3 record breaking and loss making by-elections for the Conservative party, has there?

I said on another thread… i think Johnson will attempt a comeback as party leader or PM depending on what happens in 2024… though not for a few years.

I think he’s more likely to return to journalism and drum up support by writing nasty things about minorities and whitewashing his record in government… it will take a few years but many in the membership don’t care about his obvious deficiencies and will back him regardless just like they did in 2019

//FatticusInch, worth noticing that your critisisms of BJ were pretty much unrelated to the job and so are likely to be short term annoyances resulting in acting in haste and regretting later when it's realised what was actually achieved.//

Which job? You mean the office of PM?
Acting with integrity, honour and credibility?
With all the lying, partying, law-breaking, rule-changing for a disgraced MP and covering for a sexual predator I’m not surprised he never had the gravitas nor fortitude for the office, he was too busy covering for his mistakes and illicit behaviour!
What’s worse is the lackeys sat back and watched him as he did it all as they sat on their hands, him wheeling them out in front of the press daily to defend the indefensible, saving their own skins by resigning at the last possible moment, complicit though in everything he did.
You really don’t consider all that behaviour before you post, do you?
If it wasn't for your letters I'd say ends ( fends off...f = fends off with ends off
That was on pomonas crossword thread. Wonder where this will appear!
Fatticus... I'm impressed that posyershave the time yo type all them long posts do often. I assume alot of posters are retired and spend all day composing these.
Boris won’t want sunak to be PM in case he makes a better job of it than he did ( which he will );. Truss is sure to make an ar** of the job, making Boris look good .
bobbinwales,
No idea what that means, ease off the sauce and try again in half an hour because it’s currently a better encryption than the Enigma programme.

Plus I believe you meant those and not them?
Have another go shortly.

//many in the membership don’t care about his obvious deficiencies//

It seems to me whilst those Conservative voters who support Boris are criticised for it, they will criticise Conservative MPs they don’t like. For example I've just said I don't like Theresa May and I've also said that, in my opinion, none of the candidates for the PM's job are fit for purpose, but I can't remember a Labour/Lib Dem supporter here ever criticising one of their chosen party. In the honesty stakes, that's a bit suspicious, don’t you think? They can't ALL be the best thing since sliced bread, can they?

Well, twice I've asked but since Gulliver seems rather reluctant to answer I guess we must assume that Boris hasn't expressed his support for Liz Truss.

Naomi Just make yourself a cuppa then sit down and think about it ,there are two candidates left in the race Truss and Sunak ....yes ,, Now put thinking cap on and try and work out which one Boris is going to back ? OK.
I'll ask again. Where did he say that, Gulliver?

This might help you.

//I'm not backing any Tory leadership contender, says Boris Johnson//

Must say I admired Theresa May at PMQs .The only MP who remained seated ,whilst all the other two faced M/Ps gave Boris a standing ovation.
Think she was getting a Mayday signal from Boris.
Naomi, you’ve not just said that ‘you don’t like May’ you’ve called her a traitor, backstabber and many other things.
Didn’t Johnson stab her in the back, as he did Cameron?
You do realise that your current meltdown confirms that for you it’s Johnson or no one, the object of your desires will never be replaced and you’re heartbroken over it.
It reflects on you that you have blind loyalty to a misogynistic liar who was happy to cover for a sexual predator.
Poor you.
I think some of these posts are verging on bullying . Saying people are on the pop on the sauce and mocking there English for example. And the talking down to Naomi by fatticus inch above seems to say more about him than her to me
The wizard's sleeve holds mind-bending power over Johnson, that's the level of his 'backing'.

Lol, well I wasn’t able to decipher your earlier post that was aimed at me but I’m guessing it wasn’t exactly complimentary?

Some of the verbal exchanges on here are often a battle of wits, but I don’t fight the unarmed.
