ToraToraTora //Love gulliver's forlorn hopes, I wonder how long he'll sulk after the Tories win next time, PMSL!// Not as long as you and Naomi have over Johnson getting turfed out by his own parliamentary party.

The Tories won't like this news "Up Em" just ahead of the announcement of their new P/M on Sept 5th.
And after he/she is elected Labour will leap ahead of the Tories even more so .
still not got the guts to back your own opinion then gully?
Pointless gibberish. There's not an election tomorrow and if recent history tells us anything it's that polls are often wrong. So remember this post come a general election and then tell us what happens. The clue is in the 'don't know' category. That's usually in the 20-25 per cent range. Only six per cent don't know? Rubbish.
As a regular participant in *YouGov polls, they are IMHO very suspect.

*Other polls exist.
gulliver massaging the figures! Noo! if only we had a link to the poll.

It must be very disheartening being a dyed in the wool Tory these days, to see how Boris has lead their party into a car crash after listening to his lies and broken promises.

11.44 Paigntonian, calm down.
gulliver: "it must be very disheartening being a dyed in the wool Tory these days" - not as disheartening as being a labour supporter and knowing that however bad the Tories are they will still kick the Sheet out of Labour in 2024!

Maybe, but all the recent record-breaking Tory loss by-elections tend to give an indication as to the mood.
They were certainly a deciding factor in the triggering of the VONC in Johnson that signalled the beginning of the end.

…..because again, it’s the same old recycled garbage about not dealing with crises and ‘delivering for the British people’ it’s all about being Top Dog in the House of Shouties for some, as evidenced.
Anyway - what's happening at the Boundaries Commission? I thought they were going to reduce the number of constituencies to 600 with more equal numbers of voters in each & that it would benefit the Tories because Labour have more seats with small numbers of voters.
Expect Youngmafbog to post any minute…..
Or ‘Tora’s echo’ as I like to call him ;-)

Oooph! You’ve made another enemy, Fatti.
Well since we rarely get any proper information from the OP, here's the latest YouGov poll:

https://docs.cdn.yougov.com/djmptlo22m/TheTimes_VI_Adhoc_220817_w.pdf

Importantly: "If there were a general election held tomorrow,
which party would you vote for?"

Conservative: 18%
Labour: 28%
Don't Know: 20%
Refused to answer: 3%

(Poll taken 16-17 August)

So, not only is the result of the poll largely irrelevant (as are all opinion polls taken two years prior to a General Election) but the results are not even as described.
//It must be very disheartening being a dyed in the wool Tory these days, to see how Boris has lead their party into a car crash after listening to his lies and broken promises.//

I've spent most of my adult life listening to lies and suffering the broken promises of politicians of all persuasions. There is nothing particularly exceptional about this current era. As I keep advising: work on the basis that all politicians tell you lies and that all of them will make you promises whilst they are after your support that they have not a hope in hell of fulfilling. Very occasionally you will be surprised when you discover one of them has told the truth or keeps a promise. But most of the time you will know what to expect and will not be disappointed.
//• Treat others as you would like to be treated and respect other people’s opinions. Discussions can get passionate but users should moderate their language and refrain from personal attacks and profanity. We encourage lively debate but name calling, harassment or abuse will not be tolerated.//

Only seems to apply to some it seems.

Really? Lying to the Queen, unlawfully proroguing Parliament, changing the rules to cover for a lobbying scandal, lying to Parliament, breaking the law whilst in office and changing the ministerial code, lying about knowing about the habits of a predatory sex pest?

I’d say there is something truly exceptional about this current era! Lol.
