Gulliver is of course right. The population were told that basically when out of the EU we could choose who stayed here, who couldn’t and nobody could enforce their will on us, we were autonomous from the minute we left the EU. Fast forward 3 years and absolutely nothing of what was forecast or promised has materialised , has it? There were to be many benefits,...

'Data shows that just 43,000 EU citizens received visas for work, family, study or other purposes in 2021, a fraction of the 230,000 to 430,000 EU citizens coming to the UK a year in the six years to March 2020, according to Office for National Statistics (ONS) estimates.
Of those who migrated – as opposed to travelling for business or pleasure – to the UK in 2021, EU citizens accounted for just 5% of the number of visas issued. “The figures available so far are therefore consistent with the possibility of a large decline in EU immigration,” says the report, titled “The end of free movement and the low-wage labour force in the UK”.'

There were to be many benefits, money sent to the EU would be diverted to the NHS, we’d have trade deals galore worldwide(the biggest being with the US) and we’d have absolute control of our borders.
In reality, the UK has gained no benefits other than ‘sovereignty’, which atm looks to be about as much use as a handbrake on a canoe.
The NHS has the worst performance records of all time and the economy is one heartbeat away from flat-lining.
We have become the poor man of Europe, no massive trade deals are happening nor in the offing and our government over the last 30 months make Dads Army look like a crack military unit.
The UK is a busted flush, our standing in the world is minimal and we’re a bit-part player in any global economy or world affairs.
We’ve gone from British Empire to pathetic satire in a very short space of time and there are many who need to wake up, smell the coffee and realise what they’re shovelling, because it certainly isn’t Tiffany cufflinks.

I’ve spelt out to you my perception of what Brexit has become and the facts bear it out, give us your counter arguments to what I’ve written.
