'Billionaire Elon Musk asked Twitter users to weigh in on a plan to end the war which included proposing UN-supervised elections in the four occupied regions and recognising Crimea, which Moscow seized in 2014, as Russian. The plan drew immediate condemnation from Ukrainians, including Mr Zelenskyy.'

What do you think of it?

Crimes should be returned to Ukraine along with all the other occupied territories.

Crime, especially war crime on the scale we've seen, should never pay. Russia should pay to rebuild Ukraine.
*Crimea*
Musk is an idiot.
maybe it's Elon John not Elton Musk?
There's a lot to be said for folk sticking to what they know rather than chiming in on global politics.

Or anything outside their field for that matter.
//Musk is an idiot.//

He can afford to be!
A link is always helpful.
TTT will be on you like a ton of bricks.

Musk agreed to buy Twitter last year for $44Billion. Then he reneged on the deal. He is due in court in a fortnight to answer why.
You’d have thought that would be his priority rather than trying to help his mate Putin out.

Sorry, but I think, no matter what Zellenskyy says, it's a good plan. A proper, as opposed to a rigged, referendum would show the world the criminality of Putin's election, and Russia really does have 300 hundred years old claim to Crimea.

p.s. This OP is about the plan, not the man.
// This OP is about the plan //

So what was his poll, you haven’t said.
How about UK returning Gibraltar to Spain.

"Ah, but that's different", they will all say.
If Musk thinks that is going to be acceptable to anyone but the Russians he's more radio rental that I first thought.
Musk plan also insists Ukraine is forbidden from joining NATO or the EU. So it will forever be vulnerable to Russian invasion. Don’t think that will be accepted.

No it doesn't here is the tweet:

**Ukraine-Russia Peace:

- Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.

- Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).

- Water supply to Crimea assured.

- Ukraine remains neutral.**

The length of last clause is unspecified, and NATO's rules will not allow a country in conflict with another to join.

Back to the arm-chair warriors !

So Ukraine can join the EU and NATO if it wants to?
It was a ridiculous idea, which he immediately replaced with an only slightly better one.
It's been receiving far more attention - both pro and anti, than it deserves.
Zelensky. reply was brilliant: he could have used Gromit's "he's an idiot" response (which by the way is a perfectly fair one). Instead he posted his own poll:
Do you prefer like the Elon Musk who supports Ukraine?
Or the Elon Musk who supports Russia?
He knows exactly which buttons to push (and they aren't nuclear ones).
"maybe it's Elon John not Elton Musk? "
If only...

Well, Mr John, Mr "Elon John"
You don't think people right have taken your twitter polls more seriously if you had been "Mr John Elon" for example.
Would "Zelensky Volodymyr" have been such a hit?
"So Ukraine can join the EU and NATO if it wants to?"
no it has to be approved by the European commission / council and could take 12 months
looks likely it will get in but then NATO is on Russian border
bit like the russians in cuba on USA borders look what happened there
Don't you know anything about anything, Canary?
