Extraordinary she didn't see fit to acknowledge Boris Johson and give him one sentence of respect.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.gness, I've given a couple of serious, non-combative answers to the OP, who hasn't acknowledged them in any way. That's okay, it leaves the impression that someone is either spoiling for a fight or interested only in announcing his own opinions.
Both of these are standard internet procedures; I don't know that either does much to promote the site as a debating forum, but perhaps that's not really what an "answerbank" is for.

Well, some won’t accept reality and thus indirectly condone predatory behaviour, some recommend that a poster seeks therapy because they have no response to credible argument, resulting in trumped-up but baseless accusations when that poster responds.
One especially feels they ‘speak for a lot of contributors’, yet cannot substantiate such claims?
As pointed out, they have no credible response or rebuttal to specific points levelled at their favoured political party and take umbrage by any means necessary.
Basically, if you have a contrary and reasoned opinion to those leaning to the right you’re instantly branded a lefty, no ifs or buts.
Some just enjoy throwing out wild and accusatory statements, ‘speaking for others’ when it’s nothing of the sort.
That said, every single ABer has a choice to take part(or not) in whichever thread they like.
I certainly never take part in the ‘well she said on Facebook’ drivel, but some shouldn’t regularly try and tell others not to post(invariably because they’re losing the argument) because that’s for the editors to advise.

I particularly liked the highest rated answer in Comments on the BBC story about her speech today:
/Ms Truss said her upbringing in Paisley and Leeds in the 1980s and 1990s meant she knew what it was like "to live somewhere that isn't feeling the benefits of economic growth.”
I’m sure she’ll be absolutely livid with the party in Government at the time. Oh hang on…/
You’ve gotta laugh…..

I find her excruciating to watch, desperately trying to say the right things, make the right jokes, hit the right notes, all while wearing the right clothes. Oozes inauthenticity and lack of self confidence. Whatever new shine there is will have worn off by the new year and by then she needs to have sorted herself out or she will lose the dressing room.
Yes, that’s always amazed me too TTT.
Johnson, Trump and Musk were branded idiots on this site, and Truss is regularly referred to as not being very bright.
You do not become PM, President or the world’s richest man by being an idiot or not very bright.
What they actually mean when they’re calling them idiots is “I don’t like and/or agree with them”.
That’s more honest and fine - I’m not a huge fan of any of them - but idiots they ain’t.

"You simply cannot rise to that type of position by not being very bright. You just can't. "
i completely disagree.... people can get very senior jobs for reasons other than their abilities... e.g. being a sycophant, having a good personal relationship with a superior, personal dislike of other candidates on the part of a superior, taking credit for other's work... people do not always make hiring decisions for sensible reasons unfortunately... the world is not a meritocracy and that's just as true in business as it is anywhere else
