In light of everything that’s happening, how much longer will the Parliamentary Party tolerate her?

A government that has barely begun is confronted by open questions about its imminent end.
That is the astonishing truth at Westminster, so spectacularly has Liz Truss cratered her authority with her own MPs.
In the short term, she seeks to salvage her premiership and her programme for government, or at least any parts of it that can command the confidence of her party and the financial markets.
Her critics say waiting until the end of the month to announce her plans is unsustainable.
Meanwhile Tory MPs speculate about her future and that of the chancellor.
Could Kwasi Kwarteng be the fall guy for the chaos, some ask.
Could he be sacked, or resign?
"The thing is, if she does that she removes a lightning rod, and you know what happens then? The lightning will hit her instead," one MP sceptical of that idea said.

From that link:

One MP present said the attack came from education committee chair Robert Halfon, who said that, in a matter of days,
the new PM had wrecked a decade of efforts to extend the party's appeal to the blue-collar working-class by offering tax breaks for the rich and welfare cuts.
One Conservative MP told The
Independent that there was
"a robust exchange of views"
- code for a row inside the behind-closed-doors meeting.
Asked if Ms Truss had won over any of her critics, the MP replied: "Probably not"
And a former minister told The
Independent:
"It was horrific. She's not
going anywhere but she can't survive."

I’d say she’s got maybe a week to save her premiership, but absolutely no clue how she does it whilst presently losing all credibility?
Any Tory voters/faithful got an opinion on how long she stays or how she survives?

// Her problem is that the parliamentary Tory party didn't want her; they wanted Sunak. // While that's true, I don't think that's her *main* problem. The problem is instead that she seemed instantly to forget this, and instead decided to appoint a cabinet of loyalists. That was already a serious miscalculation. If as a PM your own Parliamentary Party...

//And we all know how reliable polls are, fatticusinch, especially those that ask 1100 people out if a population of 67 million. Bit of talc for your poor sore botty? ;o)//

……from the woman who took an AB poll result as reflective of the public mood! Unlimited mileage in comedy value right now from the Tory Party and AB Right-Wingers alike! Pray continue?! Lol
Re the BA: Truss's problem is she is quite simply utterly hopeless
Tories have always had a reputation for ruthlessness: Tory voters close your eyes and imagine Liz Truss triumphant on the morning after a GE.
No, neither can I.

Speaking of Ruth, I overheard Ruth Davidson on her phone his morning: talking about the chancellor. And clearly enjoying herself :-)

Which kinda reflects on the Parliamentary Party that put her in a two horse race, then let the Werthers Warriors decide who was going to lead them.
Utterly farcical.
You should pay more attention. AB polls do often reflect public mood. The one on the Conservative party leadership contest indicated that Boris, who had just been stabbed in the back, would be first choice. You sure you want to me to continue?
Johnson got rid of all the decent Tories. That's why there was no feasible replacement.
Naomi, I won't quibble about the reliability of opinion polls, but the normal sample size is about 1000.
Perhaps that’s why they’re so very often wrong, perseverer.

PMSL, please do. But also remind me who stabbed Johnson in the back? I(as did press and public alike) reasoned he’d been forced to resign over lying about knowledge of a predatory sex pest. 60 government ministers resigned in one day over his mishandling of that, so who stabbed him in the back?
Was it the culmination of lies and deceit, where they’d all had to publicly sell their souls in order to defend the indefensible and incompetent leadership on a regular basis in front of the media?
Is it easy to blame the ethnic fella cos he was first to resign and would never be allowed the top job by the Werthers Warriors anyway?
Who stabbed him in the back and in what manner?
She's bought herself some time with the sacking and U Turns but she'll be gone before the next election.
She’ll be gone by Monday IMO

Why don’t you just write one bit and copy and paste it every time you want to post? Nothing changes.
^that to fatticusinch.
She’s made it worse by sacking Kwarteng - and then doubled down on the “worseness” by a press conference that was less of a car crash than a 20-mile motorway pileup
Just been chatting to an old friend and lifelong Tory voter who has, finally, had enough and has given up his party membership. I'd never have believe it even a year ago. You might say it's just an isolated incident, but I bet it isn't...
I didn’t see the press conference, ich - I’ll catch it later - but I think you’re right. I can’t see how she can stay - or avoid a general election. The Conservatives must be crazy to do what they’ve done!
Let’s just say Naomi it was short and not particularly sweet (!)
I’ve often wondered why he doesn’t C&P - perhaps he does because it must be boring as hell to type the same thing over and over and over again.

It’s must certainly be tedious for those that can be arsed to read it every time.

That’s your perpetual problem, you never take note of nor acknowledge factual events.
You really must stop living in cloud cuckoo land.
Fortunately for me, I can’t be bothered, DD. One look at his latest effort on another thread, currently showing in Latest Threads, will tell you why. Unbelievable.
