BRING BACK BORIS! Penny is still my choice of the rest but it now seems a real possibility that Boris could return. He's the only real big hitter and the party and the country need him back.

Gulliver I think you’ve done Boris a massive favour after all, keeping his name alive since he even took the PM job and after,so I guess it’s a thank you for this, we conservative voters will be forever in your debt

it’s worth remembering that the tories were losing support even at the start of this year… electoral calculus was predicting a labour government as most likely outcome as early as january…
Boris johnson is not the wunderkind some hope he is… he is a rather corrupt and lazy man who has a huge appetite for glory and very little talent for government

//No I’m not, untitled. I’m expecting exactly the same. Boris did lead the country, he was a force on the international stage, and the party wasn’t tearing itself bits under his leadership as it is now.//
Led the country? Seriously?? When, exactly? During the lockdown parties?
When he was lying to the Queen? When he covered up for Pincher?
You need to be specific, it’s a struggle to validate what you’ve claimed.
As for 148 against in a VONC he certainly split the Parliamentary Party.
You can’t count the Werthers Warriors, their recent voting shows they’re still a bit confused about what it is they’re voting for, clearly.

Lol, totally deluded!
If he led by example and we followed him we’d have all been fined and Covid would’ve ripped through this country.
Did you read the major points in the Gray Report?
Probably not, you do have selective memory when truth about Johnson emerges.

he was the prime minister while it happened but he didn’t show much leadership… he didn’t seem to take the virus at all seriously in the crucial first few weeks - which is the most important stage of any pandemic… he skipped the first five (i think) cobra meetings and embraced a disastrous “herd immunity” strategy which was abandoned when it was too late and the virus had well and truly spread… he also spoke at that time of “shaking hands with everybody” when experts were pleading social distance… even later on he was indifferent (until they were all caught) toward the debauched culture in downing street while the rest of the country was in lockdown. That is not leadership. He didn’t offer much leadership in his party either… when owen paterson was caught out being corrupt he didn’t make an example of the guy but attempted to change the law to exonerate him… only to then humiliate all the MPs whomhad supported him. That’s not leadership. He also knew about pincher’s proclivities for groping people and gave him a senior government position anyway and then misled everyone around him about whether he had known. Some leader.
He’s certainly doing some uniting! Lol

Boris Johnson as PM would be 'absolutely catastrophic decision' -
Tory MP Jesse Norman says Boris Johnson returning as prime minister would be "an absolutely catastrophic decision".
He said: "There are several very good potential candidates for Conservative leader.
"But choosing Boris now would be — and I say this advisedly — an absolutely catastrophic decision."//
They do have a few lucid ones.

i wouldn’t be particularly happy to see him back in the pm’s chair but i suppose if i imagined myself as a tory the thinking might be that he has a mandate from 2019 and he’s the best means of getting the public to forget about the last few months.
I am not sure he can save them though, whatever some tories might think!!

He HAD a mandate.
But that was before all the lies, unlawful proroguing, law-breaking, parties and cover-ups.
Even his own party knew he was a liability at the end, it amazingly took them an inordinate amount of time to remove him, taking siege like spoilt brat as he did.
Yet now, whilst awaiting the report from the PSC about misleading the HoC he’s being mooted for a return.
And this farce is being played out in front of the whole world and other democratic nations?
What a farce, what a shambles our democracy has become, it’s shameful.

Strange that, when he appointed the saintly Kate Bingham as Vaccine Tsarina & she managed to get the vaccines, with aid of the RAF, into the country before anyone else had them & while Brussels was faffing about trying to decide what to do.
He's also I believe, the only British politician to have a street in Kyiv recently named after him, so he must be doing something right. :0)

/Ukraine deletes tweet featuring meme of Boris Johnson
Amid mounting speculation Boris Johnson may attempt to return as prime minister following Liz Truss's resignation, the official Twitter account of Ukraine's government posted a tweet that appeared to be supportive of the former leader.
Mr Johnson is popular in Kyiv for his backing of the country in its war with Russia's invading forces.
However, the meme based on Netflix series Better Call Saul and posted by the @Ukraine account triggered a significant backlash, with some even pointing to the Uxbridge MP's alleged links with Russian figures including Evgeny Lebedev - newspaper owner and son of ex-KGB agent Alexander.
Evgeny Lebedev was made a lifelong peer in the House of Lords during Mr Johnson's tenure as PM./

Which bits of the Gray Report ‘did you not see?’
Which part of the unlawful proroguing of Parliament have you avoided?
Which section of the Pincher scandal and lies are you ignoring?
Being investigated by a PSC for misleading the HoC passed you by?
You really ought to stop this cherry-picking just because you admire a serial liar and adulterer, it makes you look increasingly foolish.
