BRING BACK BORIS! Penny is still my choice of the rest but it now seems a real possibility that Boris could return. He's the only real big hitter and the party and the country need him back.
Gulliver I think you’ve done Boris a massive favour after all, keeping his name alive since he even took the PM job and after,so I guess it’s a thank you for this, we conservative voters will be forever in your debt
'We need some stability, let's bring back Boris' I've heard it said.
Gawd elp us. Although it might make a few people's wet dreams come true, the return of BJ will not bring stability. Half of his own MPs can't stand him.
Tomus, grown ups who have a job to do rise above personal likes and dislikes. People who hate each other run successful businesses together because they are intelligent enough to understand that petty mindedness is destructive - and that’s exactly what the people of this country need to grasp. The party is in a mess, the country is leaderless, and a random ‘also ran’ won’t cure it.
Untitled, I didn’t deliberately ignore it. I usually copy and paste the but I want to respond to but I’m typing on my phone so I can’t. That’s how I missed it I expect. Sorry.
but that’s the problem… a lot of boris johnson’s popularity is based on whether people find him personally likeable (and he is likeable) rather than on whether he is a good prime minister
Untitled, I think he was a good Prime Minister and a strong one. And yes, people do like him because he’s a big character. We’ve seen what happens when the other sort are promoted above their station and personally I don’t want to see that happen again. I want this country to repair and thrive - and it’s not going to do that with an untested no hoper at the helm.
I was just about ready to throw in the towel with Truss at the helm and no one of much consequence waiting in the wings. I felt it was utterly hopeless. In fact I said here I could see little option but to have a general election, but with Boris’s re-emergence hope springs eternal - and I think that’s true for a lot of people.
