Finished work early to watch England V Iran.


Wanted to see how England were going to show their disapproval to certain events .... disappointed with England.

I didn't watch it and have no interest in the WC but heard about them not singing their NA. Very brave thing for them to do....or not do!

i am still wondering what the 'certain events' are. the iranian team were protesting in support of iranian protesters, directly aimed at their own govt. If England were to do the same, what events were you proposing they protest to our govt about? Not singing the national anthem because they don't agree with brexit? or maybe because they didnt agree with jeremy hunt's budget?? When they play USA are you expecting them to make a stand against our govt stance on extradition?

Why on earth do you think football teams are limited to protesting only against their own government actions, bednobs?

I thought the Iranian players showed utter class with their support of the protesters. I also think that a World Cup match in such a horribly run country was the correct place to take a knee to maximum effect. A shame FIFA showed such a lack of class with their refusal to allow teams to wear the One Love armband.
