I don't often venture in to 'News' but this is a disturbing case https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11595853/How-womans-false-rape-trafficking-claims-Asian-grooming-gang-sparked-national-outrage.html

What motivated her to bash her face with a hammer that she bought and make up all these lies on social media? Is she an attention seeker, hooked on getting 'likes' or is there something more to it? Could she have been groomed by a 'far right' mob or does that only happen in Corrie?

I know she's not the first to make false claims of rape and she certainly won't be the last, but this is probably the most extreme instance. Did she report it to the police herself or did they get involved because of her social media posts?

I have no idea what the appropriate sentence would be.

I had to read that more than once to believe it, Barry. Do you know what happened to all the go fund me money raised for her? I may have missed that.
Vicky Pryce is NOT a good example of what happens to speeding points changers

a judge lost her job, her pension and was disbarred ( sort of defrocked only a barrister) over it

https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/constance-briscoe

and was Vicky doing it because she found out her husband (a cabinet minister)was bi-sexual?

I can tell you that the story ran and ran....

I think it's a very good example, Peter. The typical sentence for the offence is always a few months inside. Here's another:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10615883/Pilates-teacher-37-jailed-16-months-trying-dodge-two-speeding-fines.html

and another:

https://www.lep.co.uk/news/crime/disqualified-driver-who-lied-to-police-after-being-caught-speeding-in-preston-jailed-3628280

and another:

https://www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/news/crime/halifax-man-jailed-for-perverting-the-course-of-justice-in-relation-to-speeding-offences-including-travelling-99mph-on-the-m62-3652541

Plenty more are available.

Judge Briscoe was not a "points swapper" herself but sought to provide provenance to the lies concocted by Ms Pryce.

If she was in Afghanistan, they'd be throwing stones at her.

No idea what happened to the money raised for her, gness.
Well it seems that her mother has the money at the moment, Barry. When the fund started the organiser wanted some to go for her defence and some for counselling.
Then it was to be split between two charities but one, The Maggie Oliver Foundation, won't accept it.
I think I'd like some who suffered financially to benefit if possible.
