after serving 8 of his 16 year sentence - do you think he could resurrect his music career? I still enjoy his records and would probably go to a gig if he did one locally. Or do you think he should be permanently outcast?

gary is worse then a cockroach, as for his music erm, wanna be in my gang my gang, i have daughters, and the thought is beyond revolting
errrr, i would personally mmm...anyway.
Still can’t see how it qualifies as ‘great’ music by any stretch of the imagination … but each to his own.
Dear god, Andy. Thankfully there are many on this thread who can condemn the man for what he did to the children of others.

I'll save you the bother of insulting me once again in your sanctimonious posts. You've sunk too low for me ever to bother interacting with you again.

Gness - I regard seeing Gary Glitter as a stain on humanity, as being similar to the existence of gravity, or the thought that night follows day - sufficiently obvious as to not need reference.

And you certainly know me better than to think that my abstaining from confirming the obvious somehow equates to supporting him, or excusing anything he did.

My point, which you are keen to ignore in your perverse desire to condemn me for a view I do not possess, is that he is not his records, and his records are not him.

Some people are unable to separate one from the other, and you are clearly one of those.

I, however, do separate them, as I do with any art and any artist.

If you think my demolition of your offensive meaningless scenarios is patronising, that simply demonstrates your inability to address a different point of view with the simple objectivity that basic debate requires.

And if that means you no longer wish to debate with me, I find that regrettable, but that's your choice.
I once considered GG record 'Another Rock n Roll Xmas' a top tune!
In the same way that I once considered a work associate a 'top man'.
Until I found out that both were child sex offenders.
My work associate had much going for him.
GG had much going for him.

They both lost it due to their sexual assaults.
(My work collegue recieved a 10 yr sentence as i recall. Was old when he got sentenced, probably dead now...)
1973 most apropos - 'Hello I'm Back Again'.....

and also, worringly so, 'Do you want to touch me'.
There must be something wrong with me as I find it easy not to listen to music by the likes of Glitter, Jackson, Lostprophets ( Ian Watkins)etc.

In my weird mind the paedophilia element of these scumbags tarnishes everything they achieved musically to such an extent that I just can't listen to them.
Nothing wrong with you at all, Roy. And no, your mind is far from weird.

Well mostly. ;-))
And the teacher that liked to touch me up nearly 50 yrs ago Andy?
What on Earth should I think of him?

Thank him for his French lessons?
Appriciate how, even today that I can count to 20 in a foreign language?
Or know what 'Monday' is in French?
What freakin planet are you on mate.
YOU MAKE ME ASHAMED TO BE A STOKIE!
No problem Roy - you manage to express a view different to mine, without creating meaningless, pointless, unpleasant scenarios to criticise me for not bothering to state the obvious.
I don't know about separating art from the artist so much but I know the world would be a safer place if Mr Gadd was separated from his offensive weapon, physically or chemically.
To be honest, I hated his music.
Weird, Roy is trying to post songs by a paedophile.
Twas DTCrossword fan not roy gness was'nt it
Me hopes not, Bobbin.....
Yes, Bob. But Roy will understand as I've already told him his mind is not weird.
I am conflicted over Queen, love Freddie and the music but repulsed by Bill Wyman as a man.
You'll have to explain your thinking, barry.

You seem keen to join in with someone else, and also completely ignore what I have said, in order to assume something else which I have not said, and then jump up and down on me for it.

I have no idea what happened between yourself and your French teacher, how could I, so on that basis, I have no comment to offer, part from the observation that it has nothing to do with the discussion about Gary Glitter.

My observation was about music and the musician, and the link, or not, between the two.

It had nothing to do with Mr Glitter's abhorrent behaviour, and even less to do with your French teacher, so quite why you are shouting at me about that, I have no idea whatsoever.

// YOU MAKE ME ASHAMED TO BE A STOKIE! //

I couldn't care less.
