The govt says a pay rise is unaffordable. However there seems to be plenty of attempts at justification for all the price increases in recent times. An increase in council tax is next. But don't ask for a pay rise. No-one can afford it. Just be grateful you've got a job. Selfish union people. How dare they? They should all be flogged in public.
for people like you who can afford it, the easiest way of you easing the burden for the rest of us is to move your healthcare needs into the private sector. then you can be a net contributor
Seeing the picket lines on the news this morning, I find it more than difficult to support them. Its such a serious situation yet, they all seem to be having great fun and laughter on the lines. If you are one waiting for treatment or, a ambulance, I doubt you will be laughing with them.
It’s just that you seem to be at odds with yourself, 10Cs. On the one hand you’re talking about money going out of the Govt (pay rises) and on the other, talking about price rises including council tax which is money going into the Govt.
At my local hospital nurses on strike are receiving £50 per day (so they don't lose too much money). Nurses on strike are supposed to not be allowed in the hospital, but again my local hospital is offering a free lunch. This is not for consultants, porters, working nurses, cleaners or medical staff, only striking nurses. Two people, both of whom work at the hospital, have told me this.
more than 40,000 nurses left the NHS last year - one in nine. Whatever the government's pay strategy is, it isn't working. Clapping your hands may save Tinkerbell's life, but apparently it isn't enough to feed nurses. Who'd have guessed.
Of course, if for any reason you wanted to do away with the NHS, you'd go right on doing the same as before.
I'm talking about money that is going out of peoples pockets. There haven't been any pay rises yet, but there have been lots of price increases. Council tax is the next one.
And ZM, stop trolling me please. It's not necessary.
I wouldn't mind as much if nurses were poorly paid, but the simple fact of the matter is they are not, and then add the overtime and/or agency pay for those that choose to do either or both, and they have the ability to become very well paid.
