PIXIE, if what you claim is a fact, you'll be able to post a link to support it and that will also show what you mean by, "far, far more".
Why is common sense only available on Google? Let me know which statement you disagree with- it's hard to do your thinking for you.
As the great humanist and socialist Joseph Stalin said-"better a million innocent people die rather than one guilty man goes free".Wise words from a wise man.
You claimed, "there are far, far more people being wrongly acquitted, than wrongly sentenced."

I don't know how many folk are wrongly convicted and I don't know on what basis it is decided someone is wrongly acquitted unless a new trial proves guilt.

Even if I were to accept the assertion that more folk are wrongly acquitted than found guilty, "far, far more" has no meaning unless the relative numbers or percentages are known.

That is why it would be helpful if you could provide evidence of them.
I wondered if there is such a thing as a "stream of unconsciousness" and it seems there is...
There definitely seems to be.... Read the statements, tell me which you disagree with....
Back from the lighthouse,TCL,back from the lighthouse.
The Young Conservatives could have a football card…
Quite a few people hanged under Clement Attlees premiership,Gromit.
And… ?
PIXIE, if you're not able to substantiate your claim with relative numbers or percentages, just say so.
You seem to think that it is only Torys who hang and kill people.Clement Attlee was probably the best regarded socialist Labour leader of the 20th century but as a socialist he was still killing people.
..or to put it into your words-The Momentum Mob would have a full card.
Well I hope he wasn't about the place killing folk when he was supposed to be Prime Ministering.
According to a poll last year, "Most Conservative voters favour capital punishment (58% support, 34% oppose), while Labour voters (23% support, 66% oppose) are not so keen, according to the YouGov poll."
Old geezer, it has nothing to do with higher moral standards.
Put simply , those who claim to represent us know it would be a divisive issue , and a vote loser in many ways . That why they have failed to address it over many years. I don’t know if there is a majority of opinion in favour of the death penalty across uk voters, but I suspect there is. Imagine the resultant mess and anguished howls of indignation if there were to be a referendum vote in favour !
Notwithstanding that , I know what my vote would be
It would clear out the prisons a bit and make some people think twice.
It would probably have the opposite effect.
How many prisoners on death row in US ?
With btw it’s rather high murder rate ;-)

This subject crops up from time to time but it’s politely theoretical as it’s never coming back and wrt Sandy’s question and as others have said, if it did it wouldn’t be hanging
TCL- I have made no claims about numbers or percentages- nothing to back up.
For the last time... which statement do you disagree with? My conclusion is there, what is yours?
If someone claims A is far, far more than B, that person's understanding of "far, far more" might be completely different from mines and the figures for A and B would tell me that.
