We Shot Ourselves In The Foot.
Residents living in Londons Brexit heartland have admitted they didn't know what they were voting for, and things have gone downhill ever since They voted in overwhelming numbers to leave the EU. Havering (London)
Voted 96,000 for Brexit and 42,200 to stay. The majority who voted out have now admitted they got it wrong and if they were given the chance again they would vote remain........Lets get Brexit undone.....

It is true. A lot of voters did not understand the consequences of Brexit and now regret it. I suppose they may let us back in if we apply in ten years time.

Much as I dislike the tone of almost everything that gulliver1 posts - the constant goading and jeering tone of his posts render much of the site unreadable - I will reluctantly defend his right to comment on Brexit and its consequences - I just wish there was more engagement and less ranting (from both sides).
Not living in the UK doesn't mean that Brexit is not affecting me - as most of you know I live in Ireland and so am insulated from much of the day-to-day impact of Brexit - but I still "have skin in the game" and so reserve the right to have (and express) opinions on Brexit and its consequences.
If the UK economy continues to underperform and the Pound tanks against the Euro, then my income takes a direct hit.
If my friends and family have their quality of life slashed then I have enough empathy to be angry on their behalf.
Brexit has been a disaster - anyone who says otherwise is living in cloud-cuckoo-land - how it can be rectified (or at least the damage ameliorated) is hard to see, but I am still angry that the UK is in this mess and will continue to say so.

gulliver - // Even Nigel Farage is now saying Brexit was a disaster and the UK should have remained. OH Dear OH dear. //
I don't care if the Tooth Fairy is saying it, it's just an opinion, no more or less valid than yours, or mine, or anyone's.
You appear to think that if someone vaguely well-known agrees with you, it makes your view the undisputed truth.
It doesn't.

To be honest Gulliver, personally,I am quite content with life....leave or stay in the EU, however, from your 8 track, 'chip on the shoulder' type postings, one can only deduce that your 'lot' is not good.Perhaps you should have paid closer attention in class, then you might not be living in a place fighting intellectual poverty. Keep posting we need the humour:-)
Any foot shooting will have been achieved by remoaners continually doing down the nation and encouraging EUphile & WEF supporting MPs to try to create, or as bad, not solve issues arising from their remoaning activity and the hostile underhand actions of the EU and it's supporters. If government got on with what was necessary there'd be no base for making up the continuous stream of nonsense that attempts to reverse the most sensible decision the nation has made in my lifetime.

If you read it all, it's not quite that simple:
“We have not actually benefited from Brexit economically, what we could have done. What Brexit has proved, I’m afraid, is that our politicians are about as useless as the commissioners in Brussels were."
And in that respect he is perfectly correct. All our politicians, at every level and of every persuasion are spectacularly useless. The UK has not taken advantage of Brexit as it should have. But we are still no longer members of the EU, which is the important thing.
