"The Department for Education must look closely at this case and take appropriate action to protect teachers, who often hold Christian beliefs on these issues" what ARE 'christian' beliefs on these issues? Is there anything in the bible about transgender?

Broken intolerant communist Britain I'm afraid.

If you dont tow the line you will be punished. Soon be gulags and re-education centres.
We will punish you if you do not fall into line with the "correct" view. Fascism pure and simple.
Untitled will be along in a minute hoping to complete his hatrick.
HTF can an 8 year old have trans pronouns let alone trans tendencies. MAABOF.
There is clearly more to this than first appears.

On face value, it appears that the teacher is being unfairly treated for exercising her personal religious beliefs.

But the link advises that she was dismissed for refusing to adhere to school policy.

Now we all disagree with aspects of the ways our jobs require us to behave, but if we are contracted to adhere to those aspects, and choose not to adhere to them, then the consequences are followed - and that appears to be the case here.

I suspect the tribunal will side with the school, not because the teacher followed her personal beliefs, but because those beliefs caused her to act against her employers' contractual obligations, and that is why she was dismissed.
Expecting Bobbi to get banned for daring to raise the topic!
I'm sure it's a slip by Bobbi, but an ironic one - the teacher in question is actually a woman - or should that be 'woman'!!
For a decent person to lose his livelihood over an opinion is appalling.
Britain has historically been a country of free speech and tolerance. but free speech no longer exists in this country, and other countries must be looking at us with pity.
William - // For a decent person to lose his livelihood over an opinion is appalling. //

It's 'her' livelihood, the teacher is female.
Apologies. She.
//Now we all disagree with aspects of the ways our jobs require us to behave, but if we are contracted to adhere to those aspects, and choose not to adhere to them, then the consequences are followed - and that appears to be the case here.//

Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.

This is the road to communism, perhaps you are ok with that?
D'oh, "good people".

Governed by the cons for the last 13 Years LOL

Why on earth would I get banned for stating the obvious? She’s still a girl and is just 8 years old , the papers haven’t named the teacher in question but the tv has and according to them , the teacher is male with Christian values, not that has anything at all to do with my OP
It’s not the Cons leading the charge on this politically correct nonsense though, is it Gulliver - or on any of the other politically correct nonsense that is depriving society from what it should treasure above all else - the freedom to think and to speak as individuals. Far from it.
probably find she's got a couple of TROB parents egging her on. No kid of 8 comes up with this BS on their own.
When I was eight, I wanted to be a boy. So pleased everyone ignored me.
The teacher is named ---Joshua Sutclffe.
The teacher was being responsible and refusing to play the 'pretend' game, which could be damaging to the child's life.

"...school advised the teacher in writing that they would be removing the child from the class, in order 'to continue putting her at potential harm'"
Naomi 09.47.I was only pointing out That it is the Tories who are in control of "Broken intolerant communist Britain" as posted by YMB.
