Yes someone else mentioned this.
I have no doubt there is mileage in that assessment.
It also seems that they underestimated the effect this would have on their own troops. I think tho it may simply be that they are panicking as the Ukrainian counteroffensive kicks in. And put the "blow the dam" contingency into effect. It is believed that the Ukrainian armed forces are currently blasting Russian trenches all along the front line, causing massive loss of life and chaos. Information is restricted, but it seems the Zaporizhzhya front in particular is hell for the russians just now.
All will become clearer in due course.

Correct. On the positive side (and it is not that positive unfortunately) it seems that the sheer volume of water means that the odd boat can come across and rescue people on the occupied side who are being left to drown by the russians. And some drones carrying water from the unoccupied side are not being shot down

Further to the above, the temporary occupying administration in Zaporizhzhya region has announced the evacuation of all citizens of Polohy, Tokmak and Vasilivka "for their own safety" to Simferopol, Crimea.
Tokmak in particular has been repeatedly blasted by Ukrainian attacks for the last few days.
Things are hotting up ...

Most of the stuff coming through is from Russian sources. And it reflects what I mentioned earlier about annihilation of the trenches.
Not sure how many troops constitute "ten brigades", but quite a lot I'd imagine
