Seem to remember the then Chairman of the Conservative party (Norman Tebbit) telling folk to "get on your bike" back in the day.  JV seems to have taken his advice.

I suppose he could just have moved rather than compound the driver's mistake but that's not the Vine way.

That's what I thought - but it looked to me that he could have just ridden past before it reversed.   There seemed to be a big enough gap between him and the back of the van.

It loked to me that he was totally in the blind spot of the van, so the driver would not know he was behind him. All such vehicles have a notice on the back to the effect of "If you can't see my mirrors I can't see you".

The first light he passed was green but the one at that junction was red.

 

To be perfectly honest I always give cyclists a wide berth but when I drive in London I have little sympathy for them.  So many seem to think the rules don't apply to them.  They're a menace.

 

This bloke I think sees himself as some sort of urban warrior!
