Is the Telegraph any better, douglas? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/09/29/uk-economy-growth-france-germany-sunak-inflation/ Or the...

Poor old gromit it's just too painful that the UK may be outstripping his beloved EUSSR countries! Must be excrutiating for the 5C! 🤪

TTT,

If you have a good record to crow about then I am fine with that.

Telling lies needs to be called out. And the Express are telling fibs, and you, Webbo and Togo are falling for it.

But gromit, there are other sources for the data, even the anti British Guardian agrees, naomi posted links. So why are you trying to spin it as false? Is it so painful for you to acknowledge?

I think some people are genuinely disappointed  when this country does well.

that's the 5C for you naomi!

What is Germany's actual GDP compared to the UK's actual GDP?

For those of us who can read enough to get past the past the headlines ( you get those from corduroy pillows) the Express says just after

"Post-Brexit Britain is defying the doubters, thanks to better- than-expected "growth" figures. After initial estimates put it at 0.1percent, Gross Domestic Product for the first three months of this year "actually rose" by 0.3 percent. The UK economy is now thought to have "grown" by 1.8 "percent" between the final quarter before the pandemic hit and the second quarter of this year. Britain has therefore stormed ahead and overtaken both Germany’s 0.2 percent and France’s 1.7 "percent" over that period."   ...   "Togo edited to italics for the hard of comprehension"

Germany's GDP has grown 0.2% to how much?

The UK's GDP has grown 1.8% to how much?

Surge seems to have been redefined.

I often wonder whether the compilers of statistics, who often seemingly underestimate some performances, also overestimate others, and what would the reason be for these errors.

People desperate are easily deluded by charlatans, as evidenceced by most post above.

Do these people really believe our GDP is now above Germany's?

perhaps instead of reading dodgy Daily Express reports, they should take some time to seek out the truth.

gromit: "Do these people really believe our GDP is now above Germany's?" - no one has said that, stop spinning.

I can hear it now, "It's all Boris's fault."

// UK’s GDP surges past both France and Germany’s //

It was said. Blatantly untrue, but you fools lap up all the lies.

//Do these people really believe our GDP is now above Germany's?//

No one has stated a belief that the UK GDP is above Germany's. In your usual delusional way you have made the accusation that they have because you can prove it. We can all pick a point that we know is correct, and make an issue of it, only you on here pick one and attach it to a thread that is not even discissing it. You come across on here as a lonely, desperate for validation by conflict, sort I'm afraid.

19:37, gromit you have taken that out of context. You well know they are talking about the growth RATE not the actual figure.

Togo,

So is thi a blatant lie...

/// UK’s GDP surges past both France and Germany’s //

Stop being deliberately obtuse gromit:

"The UK economy is now thought to have grown by 1.8 percent between the final quarter before the pandemic hit and the second quarter of this year.

Britain has therefore stormed ahead and overtaken both Germany’s 0.2 percent and France’s 1.7 percent over that period." - note the context, they are talking about growth.

TTT,

The Express say our GDP is now better than Germany's, not our recent improvement is better.
// UK’s GDP surges past both France and Germany’s //

It is a lie, and you fell for it. Because you are desperate for any good news.

At least Gully is an idiot.

What's your excuse ?
