Khandro, calling them stupid is under-estimating them.   For them the cause is everything and life is expendable.  Regardless of what happens they will never stop.

Perhaps the Teheran fans are worried that they will be the next to get an Israeli calling card.Those rockets were probably supplied by the regime for Hamas. The oppressed Iranians probably do not want to show any allegiance to Hamas for fearing the inevitable consequences. Israel wanted to bomb Iran during the Iraq war when they knew of the nuclear programme they were developing.The allies asked them not to. God knows why

I'm afraid I am going to disagree on that one.  IMHO I think most know exactly what they are doing and it is pure evil.

And to think, we let people into this country without a clue who they are, even pay for nice hotels for them.

I wondered if the Iranian fans' reaction might be a Sunni-Shia thing. I will cling optimistically to the idea that it is genuine humanity.

I have a slight unease about the forthcoming Israeli onslaught. Over the past few days there has been an outpouring of sympathy from Ukraine towards Israel, which I certainly welcome and it's not hard to see why: stories of Arab terrorists knocking on residents' doors are all too reminiscent of Russian terrorists knocking on the doors of the residents of Irpin and Bucha.

But what happens of and when pictures of dead Palestinian children start emerging from Gaza? And will Ukraine be put on the naughty step alongside Israel? We've already seen Okeksandr Zinchenko persecuted on social media for his "I stand with Ukraine" tweet (but not booed at the Emirates, which I think says a lot about "social" media.)

I have read the many posts on here as well as following the quite horrific reports on the news  regarding the awful events in Israel, and can see now that my comments yesterday were ill advised and not thought through. I was trying to get across how sad I feel that yet another awful conflict has erupted and how sad it is that we cannot seem to solve problems without blowing each other up, but can see now it did not come across like that, and if I caused any offence to anyone please accept my sincere apologies.

We can blame hamas/ Israel, but what we will have killing kidnappings homes destroyed, infrastructure gone and at the centre of it will be innocent bystanders who didn't ask/ want this war. It's beyond tragic .

Very true Ann.  I don't support Hamas and I don't support Israel.  I never have.  Is that a crime?  And again I say I am not anti semitic.  This is just another war, not terrorism as such

Israel does have a lot to answer for: in the West Bank many Palestinians live in camps as second class citizens. A state of affairs that leaves people a prey to terrorist influences.

Sometimes terrorism and wars merge together ;0)  Israel has a lot to answer for.  They're certainly not the good guys.  Unfortunately a lot of innocent Palestinians have suffered in their hands.  Israel has been taken by surprise.  I'm surprised they didn't suspect it.  I don't think we should intervene.  Just my opinion.
