Sometimes the BBC ties itself in knots but I'm not sure I'd go to the lengths of taking to the streets about it as some have done. Thanks to the BBC etc we've seen what was done last Sat week. This is a very emotive subject as we've seen: more than any other it seems.

This is a huge fuss about very little. We all, the BBC included, knows what Hamas are: whether you think that it's right or not - on balance I think it wouldn't hurt if they did use the T word - what matters isn't really what journalists call them as long as they are reporting their actions (which I think they undoubtedly are) . What matters is that they are officially so designated: this is not just a label, it's done for practical reasons, the sort of things that governments can do to try to thwart their activities.
