//I reckon the Met Commissioner is seriously naive if he believes the Palestine March organisers will keep their bargain and steer away from the ceremonial route.//

Me too.

I meant sorry youngmafbog

I see a war memorial in Rochdale has been vandalised and now has police guarding it.

Are the flags back up on the Cenotaph yet?  Anyone know?

the remembrance ceremony will look completely hollow this year. the irony of a british government pausing to remember the dead and then going back to eagerly sponsoring war crimes and massacres of civilians is just repulsive. i used to participate in the remembrance day ceremonies and wear the poppy but i do not think that i will again

the marchers are calling for a ceasefire... another word for that is "armistice". nov 11th could not be a more appropriate day to do so.

excuse me?

untitled, //the remembrance ceremony will look completely hollow this year.//

To you perhaps - but you'll be in the minority.  I doubt your support will be missed.

The armistice marked the end of the war not a ceasefire. Would you have called for a ceasefire during 1914-18 or 1938-45?

I'm afraid it pains me to say it as I've never liked him but Netanyahu is right to say there is a time for war and a time for peace. The fine for peace - proper peace - will come. As it did in 1918 and 1945 and in other wars. It will come in Ukraine one day too

^Amen to that.

and what makes you so sure that you speak for the majority naomi? do all your friends say they agree with you? is that really all it takes?

"Netanyahu is right to say there is a time for war and a time for peace."

Netanyahu has contributed enormously to creating the current situation and his intentions are to create a wasteland first and then call it peace. there is never a time to commit war crimes.

"Would you have called for a ceasefire during 1914-18 or 1938-45?"

1914-18 - yes absolutely 100%

1939-45 - no, but i would definitely have objected to terror-bombing

Netanyahu has called Gaza a huge terrorist factory. He's right IMO belatedly to deal with it. Unless there has been deliberate targeting of civilians then terrible tho it is it's not war crimes. That can be looked at later

//but i would definitely have objected to terror-bombing//

Do you think that Hitler would have listened to you?    ...  Nor me.

Hitler would have had a very similar attitude to me as you do togo. funny how often the two of you seem to overlap.

I'm in favour of a "humanitarian pause" in Gaza if it would do any good. Ceasefire is different

I would hope the police would not 'go for' anyone, but aim to keep opposing factions deparated to avoid violence if possible.

I am disturbed to hear that 'Tommy Robinson' is going to be involved - bringing his numb-skulled band of hooligans with their tetstosterone-fuelled sense of self-righteousness acting as an excuse to start and enjoy a riot.

Hopefully the police will be able to minimise their unrequired 'contribution' to the proceedings, since history shows that all they bring to any situation is provocation and violence.

Untitled.

Shame Hitler didn't listen to your views

Untitled, //what makes you so sure that you speak for the majority naomi? //

I don't know if I do .... but I think the majority are, quite rightly, genuinely grateful to those who gave their all to save this country from the unthinkable.   Respect costs nothing and yours is an empty gesture.  I really do doubt you'll be missed.

//Hitler would have had a very similar attitude to me as you do togo.//

You mean that he would have sent a doctor to see you? How interesting.
