.... because, supported by the church, and despite being a convicted criminal, he claimed to have converted to Christianity.  Last night's BBC news showed his Islamic burial.

Will the mugs that are the authorities in this country ever wake up?

/./How many folk describing themselves as Christian could say what God created on the third day?//  Why the hell should they. They are not masquerading as Christia converts and hoodwinking Befrocked naive dogooders who have no business in affairs of state.

Thank you for the BA naomi.

You're welcome.

Comedy gold, Tora, thanks for brightening a dull day.

Sounds as if this geezer just converted to Christianity just to remain in this country.Hopefully this is just a one-off case of the ecclesiastical authorities being hoodwinked by Islamists nut-jobs and wannabe jihadists.

Ynaf  - Do-gooders are nothing if not committed, and the worse they are, the more enthusiastic they are, it's a horrible proportionate relationship.

You can be sure that these people won't stop being exploited so they can polish their halos and feel good.

The law needs to stop them.

Now.

The people who baptised him believed they were saving a soul...thereby doing Christ's work. I suppose it never entered their naive heads what he might be capable of as a god fearing 'Christian'.

Question Author

Ynna, loads are doing it.  According to the BBC forty from the Bibby Stockholm have done it or are in the process of doing it.

No religious groups should be allowed to interfere with the asylum process, or make representations about asylum seekers.

Question Author

Naive in the extreme.

The nativity is harmless.

It's the fact that these fools are given legal powers to legitimise their nonsense that us so disturbing.

Naive pompous do-gooding attention seekers should never be given powers to affect anything even close to important to others.

Question Author

It's not harmless though - clearly.  These people vouched for that criminal.

I meant that naivity itself is harmless.

When it's backed up by utterly undeserved and dangerous legal power, it morphs into something else.

Did this guy live off of private means or something?Where did he get money from to maintain his lifestyle?Does anyone know where and or/if he worked?

he leached on to a woman with 2 kids - probably lived on benefits?

Why is it that some think that these so called asylum seekers can do no wrong, should always be believed whatever they say and that they are all victims? How gullible are these dogooders or do they hate the west so much?

Surely the Archbishop of Canterbury could do something about this, although he does look as though he wouldn't say boo to a ghost.

Question Author

Barsel, he has no jurisdiction over Baptist churches, as in this case, but it is also happening in the CofE and I think him, his bishops and his priests are just as naive.

Naomi, I think they probably know about it but are too scared to do anything probably because of the consequences.

They do it because they WANT to believe that others genuinely want to accept their creed. They don't - it's a sham.

I try very hard to ignore what idiocies are often spouted (and practiced) by senior CofE clerics.  I concentrate on the job in hand in our community.  As some know, I resigned from the PCC over the closing of the churches. I won't do that again unless forced, because I am needed where I am (no-one else can play the organ for starters!).

It does beggar belief, though, some of the stuff that is  spouted.  I know that a lot of ordinary people like me are really struggling with what is offered-up in all our names.

We are not all gullible idiots - the A of C was foisted on the church .  I.m.o. it was because they were scared of Sentamu, but whatever. He seems like a good man - but he's made a mess of so much.

(Off to hide from thunderbolts!)
