There was so much heat and light generated when it was thought that a murderous Islamist was on a rampage. It's all gone a bit quiet since it has been confirmed that he specifically targeted women and the only man he killed was a hard-working muslim (added irony there, I think).

Misogyny is a growing evil in the world.

Andy Hughes,  I didn't allocate blame.    My post refers to this OP.

No, of course you don't, perish the thought ...

I didn't.  I'd suggest you step away from the keyboard for a while, Andy Hughes.

I'd suggest you save your patronising high-handedness for anyone on here who might be even vaguely interested in reading it.

(Don't look too hard ... ).

Grow up.

No, you grow up!!

Ahem......!

OG - Of course, it is the way of things when time had passed.

However, events such as these only seem to be consigned to the bin when it transpires that the original suspicions of the contributors were wrong.

No-one seems particularly inclined to discuss this attack now it has been shown that he only wanted to attack women because they were women rather than because he was a muslim and 'that's just what they do'.

I would love to think that everyone who has weighed in with their rampant knee-jerk bigotry will be chastened by the resulting demolition of their abhorrent hatred of an entire culture, given their deafening and continuing silence.

But long and bitter experience shows that this will not be the case.

if anyone is interested I've given two extra links to his background.

What matters is out there - he was psychotic, but not a Muslim, and contrary to the bigots on there, the two are not automatically connected.

Anything else is entirely redundant.

Question Author

So you have, naomi.

And no-one seems much inclined to discuss those, either.

Andy Hughes, if you'd taken the trouble - and had the courtesy - to read what Jackthehat said you would know what this thread is about .. and it isn't what you're banging on about.

Am I on the Naughty Step again?

Oh dear ...

// he was psychotic, but not a Muslim,//

I know the type, they're everywhere, in fact there's even one on here !

Andy - as somebody who's chastised me many a time for derailing a thread, you're not exactly practicing what you preach. An important conversation has to be had on misogyny, and you're managing to stop that from happening.

As far as I am concerned, any post on any thread, has never, and can never 'stop' the conversation from going where it will.

If you know different, feel free to elaborate.

Or, in the interests of not derailing further, perhaps don't bother.

a.h. //As far as I am concerned, any post on any thread, has never, and can never 'stop' the conversation from going where it will.//

No? but you're quite good at stopping threads and posts when they're not going where you like.

AH: "Actually, it's ironic insofar as Islam was balmed, and Islam was not to blame." - ok don't rub it in 😉

TTT - // AH: "Actually, it's ironic insofar as Islam was balmed, and Islam was not to blame." - ok don't rub it in 😉 //

It needs to be rubbed in.

Why don't you accept your error, and apologise, I would have more respect for you if you did that, even if your fellow conclusion-jumpers have all gone mysteriously quiet.

Khandro - // No? but you're quite good at stopping threads and posts when they're not going where you like. //

Wrong.

I have no power to direct or stop any thread in any way, no-one does.

I'd love the power sometimes, but I don't have it.
