Some of us have thought for a while that the Barbarians were at the gates, but are they are now inside?

There are Barbarians everywhere - a lot of them are born here, or anywhere.

They've been inside for a long time.  Some have even succeeded in their mission.

The apologists will be along soon....hang on!

Yes of course they are here - just steadily gaining numbers & strength.

a-h //There are Barbarians everywhere - a lot of them are born here, or anywhere.//

If you are implying that there have previously been people in Britain planning to murder Jews - simply because they were Jews, then I've somehow missed that.

Well if you look back in history there have been times when Jews were not welcome here (Ivanhoe anyone?) but the current situation is shaming.

Yes, the Barbarians are inside and have been for some time. A friend was talking to an imam recently and the imam very calmly stated that Christianity is finished in Britain and that Muslims will outbreed Christians in 15 - 20 years. He added that 'they' were now very strong.  I can't argue with that.

People didn't vote in local elections and we got politicians with extreme views in some areas.  People don't support churches and 500 have been sold to become mosques in the past few years (they face East so are desirable).

'This is the way the world ends - not with a bang, but a whimper.' (TS Eliot)  This will happen unless somehow people wake up to what is happening and understand what is at stake.

Well done GMP and the security services for averting a terrorist incident. Sounds like they have been monitored for several months so the evidence should be encough for a conviction and long sentence.

// 500 [churches] have been sold to become mosques in the past few years //

Interesting fact if true. Do you have a link?

I can only echo joudain's sentiment.

I believe it to be true, Gromit.  My source was, I assure you, impeccable....... how to find it from the records is rather beyond me.   Especially in towns and cities, of course, the buildings provide the requisite space and, as I remarked, face east.

// 500 [churches] have been sold to become mosques in the past few years // Interesting fact if true.

Just fact checked it and it is a load of rubbish. 500 churches have closed and. been converted into houses or music venues. And over 400 mosques have opened, but crucially they were not the same buildings.

Well Gromit, I can only refer to the Imam concerned - he was pretty definite and fairly senior - maybe the 'few years' bit was vague. I'll ask around, but it could take some time.  Most churches do go for housing or businesses, agreed.

jourdain; They have been iside before & were repulsed. I'm reading the recent, Dominion - the making of the Western mind. by Tom Holland (Sunday Times bestseller) recommended!

In the mid 14th cent. Cluny was the greatest church & centre of Christianity & it's great abbot. Peter the Venerable (who sounds like a thoroughly good chap!) crossed the Pyrenees 'to better understand what the Saracens (Muslims) actually believed.

He used scholars to translate the Koran into Latin. When he, a mild man, could understand what was in it, he couldn't contain himself & described it as being 'no more monstrous a compound of heresies, as it was from both Jewish fables & heretical teachers could possible have been imagined.'

Even its vision of heaven blended gourmandising with sex. Cluny it was not. 'Far from building bridges, Peter's translation of the Koran only confirmed Christians in their darkest suspicions of its contents. 'Islam was the sump of all heresies, and Muhammad 'the foulest of men.'

Oh boy!

The story is based on a 2017 post by the Gatestone Institute, which is a far right conspiracy site with a history of spreading disinformation.

It is true that some churches have closed, and it is also true that muslim places of worship have opened. But it is a lie that they are the same buildings.

Most churches are converted into homes, and most new mosques are formerly small buildings such as clubs or even pubs.

Gromit, deliberately attempting to avoid the swear filter is likely to see your posts either edited or removed.  Please don't do it.

By invoking a swear filter ( which one?) it just gives a mod an excuse to delete a post they dont like ( in the best parsible taste etc) - seen it before

-- answer removed --

You were warned earlier Gromit. Don't do it again.

More to the point they need to remind people what they're really supporting.
