One article mentioned that a witness pointed out the shooter to the agents.

Maybe Trump should think about declining those NRA donations in future, and put public safety infront of ideology in future, and start to countenance some gun control in the US.

He however, despite being supposedly dead, makes a video saying it isn't him.

Lots of witnesses saying they informed the police of the sniper and nothing was done.

A terrible incident to wake up to and read.

Errr... America has form for having political violence. At least as far back as Lincoln. It is one of the nations who actively approve of, & allow, it's citizens to arm themselves to their heart's content with all sorts of firearms. It's exactly the opposite environment for it to be "no place ... for this kind of violence". And it has never looked likely to change that, at least so far.

I choose to believe that wolf merely meant that given Trump was the intended target it was unfortunate that it was an individual who wasn't intended who lost their life instead.
