Did the speaker call DT Donald Chump? Or do I need to get my hearing checked out?

Yep.... Chump

I've listened twice.  No, he said President Trump.

I think he says "Chump" then corrects himself.

Same as Naomi at 11.24

He says Chump then corrects himself.
Surprised they did not do another take 9or a minor edit) as it is an embarrassing gaffe.

Changed my mind having watched it a third time - and with the assistance of sub-titles. He says, "President Trump" then corrects himself by saying, "Former President Trump".

I had originally thought the word 'former' was the word 'or'.

You are right, near the end of the clip he said President Chump and then corrects himself. It could happen to anyone.

Some may remember a Radio 4 programme where a present made an unfortunate slip of the tongue when mentioning a politician named, Hunt.  He then went on to make matters worse by going into an uncontrollable fit of the giggles.

It could happen to anybody.

yeh at 2.20 he said p.chump or p.trump

president? so are there 2 presidents now?

I think former Presidents still retain the title.

I wish i could laugh about Trump or Biden,i cant. These elderly incompetent(incontinent?)geezers control the biggest, wealthiest country in the world.Scary stuff.

Surely everyone is allowed the occasional Freudian slip ?

//so are there 2 presidents now?//

The title of President remains after office unless at a formal do in which case they are referred to as "Mr"

If he did use the word "Chump" he should be removed.

Would similar apply to all those who stumbled over Jeremy Hunt's name ?

(I mean, no one wants to be called Germy. Especially someone who was Secretary of State for Health and Social Care !)

//Would similar apply to all those who stumbled over Jeremy Hunt's name ?//

Nah, he was/isa Berk.
